An extra dividend goes to non-profits
like ERCO, prison ministries, nursing
homes, and Good Samaritan Center,
which pick up all of the remaining items
that don’t sell.
The event has become so popular
that last year’s traffic was a real issue.
To remedy that, the garage sale will
be divided into two weekends. Only
furniture will be for sale on February
25th. Tickets for that day are $15.
March 3-4 will be the sale days for all
other items with seventeen stations
selling home goods, medical, holiday,
housewares, clothes, and jewelry,
and there’s no charge for those days.
The church members pick up donations
all year from church members and nonmembers.
If you love t-shirts, those are
free at the garage sale. One lady made
jump ropes out of donated t-shirts for
Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.
The event raised over $50,000 the last
two years with the majority of that going
to missions. Thanks to this mega-garage
sale, six people were able to go to London
this past year to participate in street
evangelism in addition to many others
who benefitted from working this event.
Mandy Barry, FBC Brandon member, is
one of those people. “Missions is a huge
part of my spiritual life. I love missions!
The yearly garage sale raises funds to
support missions, whether locally or
internationally. God calls us to go and
make disciples. I am so grateful for
FBC Brandon’s support and vision to
spread the Gospel. Matthew 28:19-20”

while being a vital part of missions,
