CENTRAL VALLEY CORVETTES GENERAL MEETING MINUTES of February 20, 2023 President Jeff Engelman called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. President Jeff Engelman- recognized the passing of long time Central Valley Corvettes member Vicki Garrison. Prayers were asked for Skip and the entire Garrison family and services are tentatively scheduled for some time in May. Secretary Jody Webb –Jeff asked the members to approve the minutes of January 23, 2023 meeting, as printed in the Newsletter. A motion was made to accept the minutes by Charlotte Renna and was seconded by LeighAnne Severance. VP of Public Relations/Membership – Julie Sons reported that we had two guests in attendance, Richard Lee, and Nancy Henson, who own a 2003 yellow Stingray. Polo and Siprina Duarte received their badges as they were recently installed as new members. Their sponsor was Araceli Decamp. Julie announced that we have 51 members, and 2 guests present for the evening. Congratulations to our anniversary winners Chuck & Linda Laningham. Treasurer’s Report-Jasmine Luna read the Club’s Treasury Report with an accounting of the deposits made and checks written for expenses and our current balance. Stephanie Engelman sold raffle tickets for the meeting. VP of Activities-Gary Linsner- reported on past runs including the A Man Called Otto movie night and the Lazy Dog Valentine’s Day brunch. Gary then had members that were hosting upcoming runs give any updates on run specifics. Newly added runs included Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater, Murphy’s Gold Country run, Nevada Open Road Challenge information, the annual CVC Picnic at the Kroeker’s, and an invitation from COF to participate in their Reno/Tahoe event. See activities page for further information. Newsletter Update – Newsletters articles, flyers and pictures need to be sent to Mike Lebda by February 28, 2023. Old Business – Jody Webb reported that she was taking preorders for club shirts and to contact her if interested. New Business- Jeff mentioned the American Muscle website discount and is still open to their sponsorship even though initial negotiations did not work out. Jody Webb mentioned that the Christmas Party is scheduled for December 8, 2023 and will be at Belmont Country Club. She will be asking for a club donation to cover some of the costs at the next meeting.
Sunshine News – Julie reported on the Sunshine and Clouds of the Members, a full report will be in the newsletter. Sergeant-of-Arms – Chuck Laningham- collected badge fines and it was mentioned that we will be increasing the fines from $.50 to $1.00 since that is what everyone tends to pay anyway. Next General Meeting – Yosemite Falls Café, Granite Park, Monday, March 20, 2023, at 6:30 PM Next Board Meeting – The next board meeting will be 10:00 AM, February 27, 2023, at the home of Gary Linsner. Please let President Jeff Engelman know if you plan on attending. Meeting Adjourned – Jeff called for meeting to be adjourned, David Sons made the motion, and the motion was seconded by Craig Derringer. The club would like to recognize the prizes were donated by the following members-Derringer’s Engelman’s, Garlock’s, Garrison’s, Henderson’s, King’s, Linsner’s, Null’s, Laningham’s, Decamp, Sons’, Fosnaugh’s, Severance’s, Olson’s, Jarvis’, and Webb’s. Congratulations to our $50.00 winners Josh Bowling and Steve Garcia.
