The Baptist Catechism
1 2 Tim. 1:13. Hold fast the pattern of sound words
which you have heard from me, in faith and love which
are in Christ Jesus. 3:15-16. And that from childhood
you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to
make you wise for salvation through faith which is in
Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness.

Q. 7: What is God?
A. God is a Spirit, 1 infinite, 2 eternal, 3 and
unchangeable 4 in His being, 5 wisdom, 6 power, 7
holiness, 8 justice, goodness, and truth. 9
1 John 4:24. "God is Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth."
2 Job 11:7-9. "Can you search out the deep things of
God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? They
are higher than heaven--what can you do? Deeper than
Sheol--what can you know? Their measure is longer than
the earth And broader than the sea."
3 Ps. 90:2. Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even
from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
4 Jas. 1:17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is
from above, and comes down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
