Installation of the meter in a traction substation<br />
The LE <strong>3000plus</strong> Energy Meter can be installed in a traction substation (rectifying station) and used<br />
for counting the power returned to the 3.3 kV (660 V) switching station by rectifying sets. This solution<br />
allows for monitoring the efficiency of traction transformers and rectifiers. The system for measuring<br />
the power returned to the DC switching<br />
station is shown in the figure. In this system,<br />
the meter's measuring shunt is included<br />
in the collective rail of the “plus” pole,<br />
between the cathodes of the rectifying sets<br />
and outflows to the traction line (fields<br />
of traction power units). Construction of<br />
the LE <strong>3000plus</strong> HVM measuring transducer<br />
and the LE <strong>3000plus</strong> KOM communication unit<br />
is identical as in case of the solution for traction<br />
vehicles, however the communication unit<br />
is adapted to be powered by 220 V DC or<br />
230 V DC voltage from own needs switching<br />
station of the traction substation.<br />
Installation of the meter in a section<br />
cubicle<br />
The LE <strong>3000plus</strong> electricity meter can<br />
also be installed in a section cubicle at the<br />
border of two infrastructure administrations.<br />
Depending on the cubicle function, the meter<br />
can be installed on a collective rail or on<br />
a selected outflow (e.g. to an electric<br />
locomotive depot or ZNTK Rolling Stock<br />
Repair Plants). The meter's communication<br />
unit is powered from cubicle's own needs<br />
with 230V AC or 220V DC voltage.<br />

The first LE <strong>3000plus</strong> energy meter in<br />
a cubicle version was installed in<br />
KS Newag Nowy S¹cz as ordered<br />
by “<strong>PKP</strong> Energetyka” Southern<br />
Plant. It is used for settlements<br />
of electricity supplied to a siding<br />
of the NEWAG S.A. plants.<br />
