Chesterfield Borough Council is waiving the standard road closure fee between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May, <strong>2023</strong>, to make it even easier for local communities to come together to mark the first Coronation of a UK monarch for nearly 70 years. Anyone thinking of closing a road for a street party will still need to apply to Chesterfield Borough Council for permission by completing an application form and returning it to the council by Sunday, 26th March. More information on the application and tips for hosting a street party can be found at: www.chesterfield.gov.uk Coun Sharon Blank, cabinet member for governance said: “The Coronation will be a huge event in our history, and we know that many local residents will be thinking about planning their own celebrations.” “Make sure you have a chat with your neighbours and get your application in so you can join in with the celebrations.” Bell-ringing invitation ANCY a physical and mental workout while having F fun? The Derby Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers invites you to give bell ringing a try. The group numbers about 650 bell ringers across Derbyshire who meet to ring and socialise together, give support and training, promote bell ringing and provide bell ringing advice. Said the group’s Sue Hall: “It's the perfect challenge for an individual, family or bunch of friends. You may be surprised that bell ringers come from different faiths and backgrounds, and young people, from the age of nine, and adults ring together as equals. “Ringing lessons are usually free or inexpensive, and modern technology can help you train.” Throughout Derbyshire, plans are being made to Ring for the King’s Coronation on 6th May and anyone joining now might be able to take part. Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide helps around 7,000 people each year across the country by offering peer-to-peer support. It has a number of support groups around the UK including Chesterfield. A spokesperson said: “We help those bereaved by suicide to support each other, at the time of their loss and in the months and years that follow. “We are a self-help organisation and we provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so giving and gaining support from each other.” For more information contact: 07507 692029 or email chesterfield@uksobs.org A national support line on 0300 1115065 is open on Monday and Tuesday, from 9am-5pm.
