Blairgowrie & Rattray Access Network (BRAN)
Egg ‘n’ Chips!
BRAN tend the town’s core footpaths keeping
them accessible for all to enjoy. Find an
Our work parties are never dull. We’ve certainly
had variety throughout the Spring months;
unblocking ditches on Cargill’s Way, hoeing Tam
Stewart’s Brae, lopping gorse along Kirklands,
chopping overgrowth on St Finks and freeing
culverts at Craighall Gorge. Thanks to the
generosity of Sholach Christmas Trees we
were able to utilise their donated chippings at
Ardblair Woods to tackle the muddy entrances,
following which our volunteers enjoyed their
Easter cream eggs. (See photo)
network during the growing season. Quite a
challenge.
None of this would be possible without the
unmitigated dedication and determination of
the unassuming Ian Richards who has worked
tirelessly as Secretary and, subsequently, Chair
of BRAN ensuring the organisation’s growth and
cohesion. We are so very grateful to him. Ian
remains a committee member but has handed
over the reins to Keith Reid & Derek Balloch as
Joint Chairs.
Our marvellous mowers, Ally Donald &
Grahame Mustard have commenced operations
to keep the grass controlled across the path
