Copa Airlines Expands Contract<br />
with ST Aerospace<br />
August 18, 2009 - Copa Airlines,<br />
headquartered in Panama City, Panama,<br />
and ST Aerospace have signed a 3-year<br />
maintenance service agreement (MSA).<br />
Commencing immediately, <strong>the</strong> agreement<br />
is worth an estimated $18.5 million U.S.<br />
This new agreement is a renewal and<br />
expansion of scope of <strong>the</strong> existing MSA.<br />
The original MSA between Copa Airlines<br />
and ST Aerospace was signed in August<br />
2006, and covered <strong>the</strong> maintenance of<br />
Copa Airlines's fleet of <strong>the</strong>n twenty-two<br />
Boeing 737 aircraft. The new agreement will<br />
cover Copa Airlines's current fleet of twentyeight<br />
Boeing 737 next-generation and<br />
fifteen Embraer E-190 aircraft, as well as<br />
eleven E-190 aircraft in <strong>the</strong> fleet of Copa<br />
Airlines-owned Aero República. Aero<br />
República is <strong>the</strong> second-largest carrier in<br />
Colombia, behind Colombian flag carrier<br />
Avianca.<br />
This agreement includes major<br />
inspections such as C checks, modifications,<br />
and painting. This work will be carried out at<br />
ST Aerospace's Panama facility, Panama<br />
Aerospace Engineering (PAE), which is<br />
located at what was previously Howard Air<br />
Force Base in Panama City.<br />

SR Technics and Edelweiss Air<br />
Extend Full Support Contract<br />
August 4, 2009 - Edelweiss Air, a subsidiary<br />
of Swiss International Airlines, will continue<br />
to entrust <strong>the</strong> full support of its Airbus A320<br />
fleet to SR Technics <strong>for</strong> an additional 3 years<br />
and 3 months. Zurich-based SR Technics has<br />
held contract with Edelweiss Air <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> last<br />
10 years.<br />
The renewal agreement, which extends<br />
to March 2012, includes line, light, and base<br />
maintenance, maintenance operations<br />
control, <strong>engine</strong>ering services, component<br />
support, <strong>engine</strong> maintenance, and logistics<br />

New Zealand Trent 1000<br />
Orders<br />
July 9, 2009 - Rolls-Royce is to power<br />
Air New Zealand's new Boeing 787-<br />
9 aircraft with Trent 1000 <strong>engine</strong>s.<br />
This agreement pertains to eight<br />
firm and eight optional aircraft<br />
orders; it follows Air New Zealand's<br />
initial selection of <strong>the</strong> Trent 1000<br />
<strong>engine</strong> as part of four firm Boeing<br />
787-9 orders in 2004. The new<br />
agreement includes a TotalCare<br />
long-term service agreement.<br />
Air New Zealand also uses Rolls-<br />
Royce Trent 893 <strong>engine</strong>s to power<br />

Rolls-Royce RR300 to Power Eagle Helicopter<br />
July 29, 2009 - Rolls-Royce's RR300B1 <strong>engine</strong> has been selected<br />
to power <strong>the</strong> RotorWay Eagle 300T turbine twin-seat helicopter.<br />
As part of this agreement, RR300B1 <strong>engine</strong>s will be delivered to<br />
RotorWay International through 2017.<br />
The RR300B1 is <strong>the</strong> second model in <strong>the</strong> RR300 program and<br />
<strong>the</strong> fourth release in <strong>the</strong> RR family of <strong>engine</strong>s. Launched in 2007,<br />
production and delivery of this model began in 2008. Key<br />
attributes of <strong>the</strong> RR300 include low acquisition and operating<br />
costs, low weight, a compact design, improved specific fuel<br />
consumption over its predecessor, an embedded <strong>engine</strong><br />
monitoring system, and <strong>the</strong> ability to burn a variety of available jet fuels.<br />
The Eagle 300T helicopter will have a load capacity of 1,100 pounds and a fuel capacity of 80 U.S.<br />
gallons, giving <strong>the</strong> aircraft a flight duration of 2 hours, with a 30-minute reserve. The Eagle will cruise<br />
at 110-knots/127 mph and have a service ceiling of 13,000 feet. www.rolls-royce.com<br />
Rolls-Royce Announces New Wide Chord Fan Blade Factory in<br />
Singapore<br />
July 28, 2009 - Rolls-Royce has announced plans to build a new wide chord fan blade factory in<br />
Singapore. The factory will be located at <strong>the</strong> Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus, alongside <strong>the</strong> previously<br />
announced Facility of <strong>the</strong> Future, which will assemble and test Trent <strong>engine</strong>s.<br />
The total investment in <strong>the</strong> Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus, including investment in <strong>the</strong> wide chord<br />
fan blade factory, is anticipated to be over $450 million. Construction of <strong>the</strong> Facility of <strong>the</strong> Future and<br />
all o<strong>the</strong>r elements of <strong>the</strong> campus, including a regional training center, will begin in <strong>the</strong> first quarter of<br />
2010.<br />
The new factory will be <strong>the</strong> first such facility outside of <strong>the</strong> United Kingdom to manufacture Rolls-<br />
Royce hollow titanium wide cord fan blades, a technology which has played a key role in <strong>the</strong> success<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Trent <strong>engine</strong> family. It will provide additional capacity to Rolls-Royce's Barnoldswick factory in<br />

Rolls-Royce Wins $470 Million Trent Order from<br />
Turkish Flag Carrier<br />
July 3, 2009 - Rolls-Royce has won a $470 million order, at list prices,<br />
<strong>for</strong> Trent <strong>engine</strong>s to power seven aircraft from Turkish Airlines (Turk<br />
Hava Yollari). The contract includes long-term TotalCare service<br />
support.<br />
The order, <strong>for</strong> Trent 700EP <strong>engine</strong>s <strong>for</strong> Airbus A330 aircraft, is part<br />
of <strong>the</strong> Turkish flag carrier's strategy to expand its fleet and improve<br />
its economics, efficiency, and environmental impact. Aircraft<br />
deliveries will start in 2010.<br />
The Trent 700, <strong>the</strong> only <strong>engine</strong> specifically designed <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> A330,<br />
remains <strong>the</strong> market leader <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> aircraft; it has been chosen <strong>for</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> A330 on more than 70 percent of new orders over <strong>the</strong> last 3<br />
years. The Trent 700EP version of <strong>the</strong> <strong>engine</strong> continues to improve<br />
<strong>engine</strong> per<strong>for</strong>mance by a fur<strong>the</strong>r 1.3 percent over previous<br />
generation <strong>engine</strong>s, providing <strong>the</strong> lowest lifecycle fuel burn, <strong>the</strong><br />
lowest cumulative emissions, and <strong>the</strong> lowest noise levels of any<br />
