Bottomless lunch?
You've gotta Lovat!
Fancy a leisurely weekend lunch?
Lovat’s $99-a-head Bottomless Lunch
starts with an Aperol spritz on arrival,
followed by burrata and olives. The
deal has two entrees and four main
courses. Choices include Sri Lankan
fish curry, steamed mussels or steak
with fries. Pair with bubbles, wine or
beers. Dessert is extra.
Queen Ester expands
street eats empire
Queen Ester fans can now sample its
tasty street eats in Mona Vale, where
a second outpost is now open on
weekdays. Go for Israeli cheese-filled
pastries called Ziva, shakshuka, coffee
and sweet treats. The homemade
felafel pockets stuffed with hummus,
hot pickled peppers and labneh make
trying to find a car spot worthwhile.

Sammy's at
Careel Bay
Newly opened Sammy’s
at Careel Bay serves its
coffee with knockout
water views. Tuck into
avo and goats cheese on
sourdough, chia puddings
and NY-style bagels with
smoked salmon and cream
cheese. Hot bites include
jaffles filled with bacon,
egg and aioli and jaffles or
slow-cooked bolognese,
mozzarella and basil.
Beans on the move at
Narra's Bar 210
Bar 210’s coffee beans make their way
from a Marrickville boutique roaster to
Narrabeen for the cafe’s caffeine fixes.
There’s an all-day breakfast menu with
smashed avo on sourdough and egg and
bacon rolls. Move on to lunch and there
are chicken burgers and wraps as well as
a selection of jaffles and paninis.
Three of a kind: Burgers
It’s winner, winner chicken
dinner in Newport. Chicken
burger fans can pick pimped
schnitty burgers or tangy
tandoori chicken burgers
with minted yoghurt. The
Honest Chicken’s namesake
(pictured) features a herby
grilled chicken fillet, lettuce,
tomato, cheese and aioli.
Chicken salt-sprinkled chips
are a must.
Narrabeen’s Two Hungry
Bears has mega-meaty burgers
to sate peckish carnivores.
Mr Miyagi packs a beef patty,
American cheese, crispy sweet
and sour pork hock, pickled
carrots and sesame mayo
into a bun. Mac Killer pimps
Angus beef, American cheese
and bacon jam with a mac ’n’
cheese patty, special sauce and
pickles.
Any self-respecting cafe these
days has to have a vegetarian,
and preferably, a vegan
option. Mona Vale’s Ruby’s
at the Beach showcases
its chickpea, turmeric and
cauliflower patty and then
piles on kimchi, vegan aioli,
lettuce, pickles and sweet
potato fries. Alternatively,
swap the ciabatta bun for a
naked burger bowl.
