10 - 11PAINT IT BLACK The Performing silhouettes of Roger DeakinsHIGHLIGHTING DRAMA.Nei due spezzoni del mash-up preso inesame relativi al film “The Assassination ofJesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” (4),l’utilizzo di silhouettes aumenta quel sensodi timore che porta al raggiungimento dellaspannung e al conseguente scioglimentodella situazione. Nella prima scena mostrata,è una storia senza tempo quella che vieneraccontata, quella del cacciatore che cerca lapreda: i corpi degli uomini, ridotti a forme inmovimento, incombono minacciosi.È sicuramente il secondo spezzone quellodi maggior rilievo: la figura solitaria delfuorilegge, in piedi di fronte ai fari del treno inarrivo, esprime una forte autorità, intimorendolo spettatore intento a fissare lo schermo.Un netto contrasto di luce e una grana opacafanno si che la scena appaia come presa dauna vecchia fotografia; uno degli scatti piùd’impatto dell’artista inglese, indubbiamente.
