….... a word from our President
Our 2023 annual picnic at Kroekerville is now history. Thank you to everyone who
helped make this one an extra special event. This event was well attended and we had
40 members' cars present. It's great seeing this many members' cars together. I doubt we
will ever see that many cars together on one of our runs. All Corvette generations were
represented. Be sure to see the pictures in this issue.
I have to mention our participation in the 109 th Annual Clovis Rodeo Parade again. If
you missed the June meeting, Charlie announced the two awards we received. We
received first place plaques in the “Motorized Vehicles, Antique or Classic Car” and in
the “Non-Theme Sweepstakes” divisions. Also included with the awards was $350 in
prize money. The “Non-Theme Sweepstakes” plaque is the larger of the two. So I
believe we beat out other parade class entries, not just car/truck entries.
Several new runs were announced at the June meeting. Thanks to all who put in the time
and effort planning and leading our runs and events. If you need help putting on a run
you would like to do, talk to one of the Board members or another member. One way or
another, we will find someone to help you make the event happen if feasible.
As you may already know, the Corvette turns 70 this year. It is only fitting that Corvette
Racing took the LMGTE Am class win at the Centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on
June 10 and 11. The No. 33 Corvette Racing C8.R had to rally from an incident that sent
the car to the garage for repairs to a front damper. The way the team was able to battle
its way back for the win was really special. They have one of the best team and drivers
in the business. And as we know, one of the best sports cars.
Your President, Jeff
Corvette Racing celebrating their win at Le Mans

Thanks to all our CVC Participants showing up for the Parade all shiny. Also,
thanks to Glen Henenfent and Jasmine Luna as the 2 Fresno Queen Escorts in
the lead. A BIG THANKS to Diane Tjerrild for providing the graphic clings of
Rodeo Characters and Slogans for all our Corvettes! We not only one 1 st Place in
the Motorized Division, we also won 1 st Place in the overall non-themed(?)
category! I appreciate everyone helping to make Central Valley Corvettes look
great for the Parade!!
Charlie

ANNUAL CVC PICNIC SATURDAY, JUNE 10 th
The day started out beautifully and the weather was
amazing. We have a total of 40 beautiful Corvettes and as
they arrived, we lined them up on two sides showcasing a
walkway towards all 8 generations of Corvettes in a row.
Thank you to Jimmy for using his drone and taking some
awesome pictures and videos to display all the Vettes.
There was a total of 74 people in attendance and I hope
everyone had a good time. I hope
We started the morning with yummy appetizers so thank you
to everyone who brought and shared a dish.
Congratulations to Lorraine for the win of “best” appetizer
for her jalapeno poppers. They were very delicious but so
was all the other dishes.
We played several arcade-like games and I hope nobody
thought they were too childish. I wanted everyone to
participate in the activities so didn’t want to make them
too difficult.
After some activities we enjoyed more food catered by
Chuck’s and it consisted of BBQ brisket, chicken and the
fixings. However, they forgot one pan of the pilaf and I
hope the few that didn’t get any wasn’t too disappointed.
We also planted a tree and dedicated a plaque to Joyce
Kroeker as an “Exceptional” CVC member for 2023. We chose
to honor her and acknowledge that she is appreciated for
who she is and what she has done for our club.
We played Bingo as a group and handed out prizes. We ended
the day with ice cream sundaes/floats as if we needed any
more food. If you left hungry you weren’t at the same
party.
We thank everyone who came and joined in the festivities.
Your board, Jeff, Gary, Jasmine, Jody & Julie
