Dear Friends,<br />
From the publisher’s desk, we continue to see developments involving both developers and regulators,<br />
in private and government sectors, reflecting the needs of our professionals in understanding how these<br />
rapid changes will benefit or harm all of us.<br />
On July 26 th , <strong>2023</strong>, the SEC voted 3-2 to adopt new rules on cybersecurity disclosures. <strong>The</strong>se rules are<br />
designed to help investors make in<strong>for</strong>med investment decisions by providing them with more in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
about the cybersecurity risks facing public companies. <strong>The</strong>se rules also aim to encourage public<br />
companies to take steps to improve their cybersecurity posture.<br />
<strong>The</strong>re is no shortage of concerns voiced by practitioners in nearly all types of cyber security endeavors.<br />
Artificial intelligence continues to be the wild card, and its potential effect on almost every sector has<br />
heightened the level of discussion and possible means of dealing with AI as both a threat and an<br />
opportunity.<br />
We believe that the role of the CISO and related professionals will provide the most effective and efficient<br />
way to optimize the future integration of AI into our economy and society. This holds true across the<br />
board, recognizing the rapid development of applications based on artificial intelligence, such as privacy,<br />
identity theft and fraud, and consumer protections. We honor those CISOs and a select group of Top<br />
