cared for each other, not just in that moment,
but every day; that we would be there for each
other and still will, though we’re miles away;
that we pray for each other, have the same
values and serve the same Lord. Yes, we’ve
made many new friends in our new town who
love us and we love them, but our supper club
friends, they will always be the gold.”
Another Rankin County supper club that
has stood the test of time is a group made up
of Brandon High School graduates, and a few
“transplanted” spouses, who have been friends
for many years. “There was a group of us who
were really close in high school,” says Brett
Vickers. “There’s always a house among friends
that is ‘the’ house, where everyone gathers and
you feel at home and welcomed. For us it was
Regan Holcombe’s house. I’m very grateful to
Mr. Sid and Mrs. Pauline, Regan’s parents,
for teaching us the importance of welcoming
others into our homes and being a positive
role model for the children who spend time
there. They taught us so many important life
lessons, and now we do the same with each
other’s children because we saw it modeled in
their home.”
Along with Brett and his wife, Charleigh,
as well as Regan, other members of the group
are Andrew and Brittany Mann, Aaron and
Blair Jussely, Cameron and Brittney Emmons,
Chad and Lindsey Roberts, Ben and Audrey
Upchurch, and Josh and Tallie Smith. The
supper club started in 2017, with one couple
hosting the group in their home once a month.
As children came along, they opted for babysitters
and dinner out. What started as a
monthly supper club has become so much
more. “We went from eating together to doing
life together,” says Brittany Mann.
From children’s birthday parties and shared
vacations to t-ball games and concerts at the
amphitheater, the friends spend a lot of time
