I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Willie Kirk, his staff,<br />
players, and the supporters of <strong>Leicester</strong> <strong>City</strong> who have made<br />
the trip this afternoon.<br />
And to our fans, more than 7,000 of you saw us win promotion<br />
in this stadium just over six months ago, and we can’t wait to<br />
get back out there for the start of an even bigger challenge.<br />
Your support last season was excellent and we’re going to<br />
need to hear you at all our games this season too because<br />
each of you has a role to play as we venture back into the<br />
top flight.<br />

Looking back to when I first returned to Bristol <strong>City</strong> as Head<br />
Coach proves a stark reminder of how far we’ve come. We’re<br />
back in the WSL and Ashton Gate is our permanent home -<br />
we want to keep making great strides and prove we’re not<br />
here to make up the numbers.<br />
Our top priority this summer was to keep hold of players that<br />
helped us achieve promotion, and it was so pleasing to secure<br />
those signatures so soon after the end of the campaign.<br />
We wanted to keep this group together because we’re like<br />
a family, which has helped massively with introducing new<br />
faces into the squad.<br />

We’ve welcomed seven new full-time staff and nine new<br />
players to the club, and while the longest off-season that any<br />
of us have experienced has presented challenges, it’s given<br />
us time to form great bonds on and off the pitch.<br />
