LOCAL NEWS Barclays Bank at Council House Barclays Bank customers <strong>in</strong> <strong>Lichfield</strong> District can now access face-to-face services at its community bank<strong>in</strong>g facility, Barclays Local, at District Council House. On Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Support Hub <strong>in</strong> Frog Lane, advisors are offer<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial reviews and balance requests, can open sav<strong>in</strong>gs accounts, and support with digital bank<strong>in</strong>g. Cash deposits and withdrawals need to be completed at the Post Office as the community facility is cashless, but staff are available to provide advice and support. The new <strong>Lichfield</strong> facility, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 4pm, is part of Barclays’ roll out of ‘the largest network of community bank<strong>in</strong>g sites <strong>in</strong> the UK’. Some 270 are already open support<strong>in</strong>g customers with ‘a more flexible and susta<strong>in</strong>able model’. Tamworth By-Election The by-election for the parliamentary constituency of Tamworth will take place on Thursday 19th <strong>October</strong> <strong>2023</strong>, follow<strong>in</strong>g the resignation of Christopher P<strong>in</strong>cher as a Member of Parliament on Thursday 7th September. Residents liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the Tamworth constituency, who are registered to vote, will start to receive their poll cards from 23 September. This <strong>in</strong>cludes a number of <strong>Lichfield</strong> district residents <strong>in</strong> Bourne Vale <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g H<strong>in</strong>ts, Stonnall and Whitt<strong>in</strong>gton; Mease Valley, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g Clifton Campville, Ed<strong>in</strong>gale and Harlaston; Wall, Stonnall, Little Aston, Fazeley; Coton, Hopwas, Elford and Wigg<strong>in</strong>gton. The poll cards <strong>in</strong>clude <strong>in</strong>formation on how to arrange a postal or proxy vote for those who cannot make it to their poll<strong>in</strong>g station. Follow<strong>in</strong>g new legislation, all residents vot<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> person must remember to br<strong>in</strong>g a form of photo ID with them.
