Designer
Steven Holl is unquestionably one of the most influential architects
in the world. Born in 1947 in Bremerton, Washington, he established
the esteemed firm Steven Holl Architects in 1976, following the
attainment of his degree in architecture from the University of
Washington.
The studio is renowned for its remarkable ability to shape space
and light with profound contextual sensitivity, and to catalyze the
unique qualities of each project, thereby fashioning a conceptdriven
design at various scales.
Internationally acclaimed, Steven Holl has received the most
prestigious accolades, publications, and architectural exhibitions
in recognition of his design excellence. He was notably designated
by Time magazine as the 'Best Architect in America' for crafting
'buildings that satisfy the spirit as well as the eye.

The
luminous
space
becomes
ethereal
Light, as a substance, is invisible, yet owing to its dual nature
with shadow, it is perfectly perceivable by the human eye,
giving rise to new spaces and sensations that both describe
and shape the reality as we know it. It is from this insight
that the Riddled collection emerges, a lineage of exclusive
design pieces where wooden elements, akin to sculptural
origamis, grant passage to light, orchestrating a veritable
explosion of shadow play."

A stroke
of genius
The Riddled family impeccably embodies the
cornerstones of the entire Horm collection: artisanal
excellence and the distinctive creativity typical of
'Made in Italy.' Technological intuition, a thirst for
experimentation, and an in-depth understanding
of materials have given rise to a new substance—a
sandwich composed of wood and fabric. This innovation
allows for the manipulation of the precious Canaletto
walnut—or ebony—as if it were paper, gracefully
bending and conferring upon it unusual and lightweight
forms, all without compromising the typical stability and
solidity inherent in this material."
