Boker Coffin Denim Micarta by Chuck 

Gedraitis is more than just a knife, a mélange 

of tradition and proven innovation — for 

increased heartbeat among true knife fans. 

Characteristic is the coffin-shaped design 

of the jeans-blue Micarta handle scales, 

which, in addition to a balanced feel, ensure 

a nonchalant, casual look. With the drop 

point blade made of powder-metallurgical 

MagnaCut (62-63 HRC) and a decorative 

ricasso, the final coffin nail for demanding 

everyday cutting tasks is also clearly defined.

90 degree stop moves in the EDC world

Discreet in its name, sovereign in appearance. 

The Boker TRPPR (pronounced: trapper) 

is an extraordinary gentleman's knife that 

transfers the spirit of the successful Boker 

Trapper into a new era. Although reduced 

to the essentials, the pocket knife leaves 

nothing to be desired. The ball-bearing 

blade made of powder metallurgy MagnaCut 

(62-63 HRC) opens silky smooth via a flipper, 

while the elegant titanium integral frame 

lock with stainless steel inlay and overtravel 

stop reliably secures the knife. The blade 

steel used is characterized above all by high 

wear resistance, high toughness and high 

corrosion resistance and is rounded off by an 

attractive two-tone finish. The long bolster 

of the titanium handle body reinterprets the 

nostalgic spirit of the times and shapes the 

TRPPR into a new model of contemporary 

knife culture. Decorative accents are set by 

the front blade axle screw, which features the

Two streamers in the wilderness? Knives 

instead of controllers? Starving instead of 

Happy Slice Pizza? Sounds absurd, but it 

will come true. Trymacs (29) from Hamburg 

and Rumathra (27) from Bonn will compete 

together as a team in the upcoming episode 

of the successful YouTube format 7 vs. 

Wild and face the 14-day adventure in the 

wilderness of Canada. The two heavyweights 

from the German streaming/gaming scene 

together have over 4 million followers on 

Twitch (Trymacs 3.4 million, Rumathra 0.7 

million) and also have a strong presence 

on YouTube and Instagram. As part of the 

intensive preparation for this borderline 

experience, the choice of the right equipment 

- especially because all items have to be 

stored together in a 1L Nalgene bottle 

- played an elementary role for the two. 

Together with Rumathra, who visited us 

several times in our Solingen workshop, we 

developed and built our own knife, which 

is perfectly adapted to the requirements 

and conditions of the upcoming outdoor 

adventure. The basis for the new development 

is the outdoor and bushcraft knife Boker Plus 

Vigtig designed by Dave Wenger, which due 

to its dimensions (total length: 19.7 cm; blade 

thickness: 4 mm) not only fitted perfectly 

into the bottle but is also designed for the 

toughest demands. The blade steel chosen 

was Magnacut, which, unlike the tool steels 

usually used, was specially developed for 

knife making. This steel, which has been 

hailed as a "miracle steel," has succeeded 

in achieving a very fine structure and thus 

high toughness and shock load tolerance 

despite its high chromium content of 10.7% 

and impressive hardenability of over 62-63 

HRC. In combination with the True-Scandi 

grind, the blade in the stonewash finish defies 

every challenge that arises, from fine cutting 

and carving tasks for camp construction 

and firewood preparation, to batoning and 

chopping, to game handling. To make the 

most of the space in the Nalgene bottle, the 

two handle scales made of green canvas 

micarta have been kept slightly flatter than in 

the original version and ensure a perfect grip 

even in wet conditions. A special highlight can 

be found inside the handle. Instead of hollow 

studs, the two large screws can be easily 

removed with the help of a coin, revealing 

an ample compartment with a depth of 14 

mm compared to the outer dimensions of 

the handle, where tweezers, tinder, charcoal 

tablets, a fishing kit and safety pins, for 

example, can be easily accommodated. Even 

as a skeletonized knife without handle scales, 

the Boker Vigtig vs. Wild, made entirely in 

Solingen, cuts a fine figure and underlines the 

versatility of the special model. The delivery 

scope is rounded off by a compact Kydex

2 | BOKER NATURENSÖHNE MK. I 

Gerrit and Andy, better known under the 

name of "Naturensöhne" (sons of nature), 

on their Youtube channel inspire more than 

500,000 followers with their entertaining 

content from bushcrafting, camping, hiking 

and equipment testing. More than two years 

ago, we started working with the two Berliners 

on the concept of their own Naturensöhne 

knife. Due to their nomination for the 3rd 

episode of the Youtube success format 7 vs. 

Wild, where seven teams have to survive in 

the wilderness with self-selected pieces of 

equipment, the requirements for our joint 

project have become even more challenging. 

Since all the equipment had to be stored 

together in a 1 L Nalgene bottle, we had 

to completely rethink the dimensions of the 

robust outdoor knife. 

The result is the Naturensöhne MK. I: a special 

version of our Outdoor/Bushcraft success 

model Böker Bronco. While the full-size handle 

securely encloses the full tang and ensures the 

usual excellent hand position and grip, the 

blade offers exactly what is expected from the 

most important tool during uncompromising 

outdoor use in 14-day Canada: Exceptional 

edge retention, shock load tolerance, 

fracture resilience and shatter resistance. This 

is made possible not only by the powder 

metallurgical blade steel CPM 3V, but also 

by the appealing premium coating Hardur, 

which is used exclusively on high-quality 

cutting and punching tools. The approx. 5µm 

thick Hardur coating, which also includes the 

cutting phase, increases the service life of the 

blade significantly and also ensures a frictionreduced 

surface. 

As lovers of a True Scandi, the choice of blade 

grind was without alternative for the Sons 

of Nature. The advantages are obvious: the 

extremely sharp bevel does not require a 

secondary phase. Especially when batoning, 

the Scandi demonstrates very good cleaving 

properties and a high degree of stability, since 

the entire blade thickness is maintained over 

about 2/3 of the blade height. The resulting 

higher weight of the blade also provides 

more mass when chopping than a flat grind. 

The thermoplastic TPE is used for the handle 

material. This is indestructible and, in addition 

to a perfect hand position, ensures the desired 

work safety in both dry and wet conditions. 

The premium equipment is rounded off by 

a compact Kydex sheath which, thanks to 

the included Ulticlip, ensures that the most 

important tool does not fail. Completely made

Reliable, tough and with a lot of outdoor in 

its blood: The Boker Bronco Mini embodies 

a well-balanced compactness with maximum 

adventurousness. As a smaller version of 

the much-cited Boker Bronco, the striking 

bushcraft knife creates unforgettable 

moments away from everyday life, from the 

first breath in the clear morning dew to the 

crackling campfire in the middle of untouched 

nature. The drop point blade with high-set 

Saber grind is made of 80CrV2 stainless steel, 

which combines robustness, edge retention 

and shock resilience in an uncompromising 

way. Cutting, carving and even chopping form 

the unmistakable comfort zone of the outdoor 

knife. The zest for action is underlined by the 

blade's gritty black stonewash finish, which 

gives the fixed blade knife an unmistakable 

used look. For maximum stability, the tang 

is full length and protrudes a few millimeters 

from the end of the handle, so that it can easily 

withstand even powerful blows with round 

timber. A short section of the back of the blade 

forms sharp 90-degree edges on both sides 

for striking sparks with an optionally available 

fire starter. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) 

was chosen as the handle material, which 

completely encloses the tang and has a grippy 

texture. TPE is resistant, elastic, non-slip 

and has low heat conductivity. This means 

gentle and safe handling with a perfect grip 

under all weather and working conditions.

As one of four smiths, the dwarf Dvalin 

created the necklace Brisingamen for Freya, 

the Germanic goddess of love. In Norse 

mythology, this special necklace is said to be 

associated with magic, love, but also sorrow 

and suffering. Thus, Freya's tears in heaven 

always promised rich fruit on earth. However, 

it was the wrath of Odin, the father of the gods, 

that not infrequently caused the goddess of 

love to spark wars in the human world. Dirk 

Hofmeister of Midgard's Knives was inspired 

by the Nordic art of forging and created 

the pocket knife version of the popular Little 

Dvalin. The powerful Dvalin Folder impresses

The objective in the development of the Boker Plus 

Kalashnikov was to integrate design elements of 

the AK-47 assault rifle. CNC milling was chosen 

over die-casting as the manufacturing method 

for the handle in order to achieve the highest 

degree of precision. It is made of black hardcoatanodized 

6061-T6 aluminium and has non-slip 

G10 inserts — featuring the same contour as 

the front handguard of the famous assault rifle. 

The most striking key recognizable feature is 

the D2 blade, which stylistically corresponds to 

the bayonet blade of the AK-47. Supplied with 

a push-button that both opens and unlocks the

The Boker Plus Thunder Storm, designed by 

Boris Manasherov, is a rugged tactical knife. Its 

pronounced finger choil makes it very handy 

in any grip position. Fast position changes 

to a reverse grip or vice versa are supported 

by the ridges in the blade spine handle. The 

handle scales are milled from aluminium with 

weight-reducing jimpings. The blade, made 

of AUS-8 steel, is secured with a button lock 

mechanism (fully automatic!). This lightweight 

pocket knife also comes with a tool that can be 

used to exchange the tungsten carbide glassbreaker 

with a flat plate. With a lanyard hole 

and reversible deep-carry pocket clip (tip-up).

In the faction of Balisong knives, the Boker 

Plus Faction by Jakub Wieczorkiewicz takes 

a special role. Opened, it presents itself 

like an elegant gentleman's knife, since the 

usual recesses in the handle for this type of 

knife were dispensed with. Instead, the knife 

designer from Poltergeist Works relies on mass 

as well as class for the Boker Plus Faction. 

Balanced in use and sweeping in opening, the 

classy titanium handle with bead blast finish 

makes a commanding impression in the hand 

in any position. The blade made of powder 

metallurgy CPM-S-35VN easily masters even 

difficult cutting tasks and is equipped with a
