Foundation of Noloitalia, a new
company entirely dedicated to
the rental of compact Caterpillar
machinery and other brands
for construction, industry,
environmental maintenance, and
under a new identity with
strong shared values: TESYA.
The TESYA Group, through
CGTE, acquires the Spanish firm
Emerent (an Asturias-based rental
company) and, through CLS, the
An Eye on the Future
18 | | 19

The rapid acceleration of technological innovation and geopolitical
changes require continuous rethinking and transformation to meet
the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Innovation is a key strategic focus for the TESYA Group. At TESYA,
we are committed to providing advanced and diversified solutions,
leveraging the digital acceleration enabled by new technologies.
The technological evolution linked to energy transition, digitization
and the sharing economy drives the TESYA Group’s strategy
for a future that is already here. The energy transition is crucial:
with its energy divisions, the Group aims to further expand its geographical
reach in energy generation, and cogeneration, as well as
in the marine world. With XIBER Energy Solutions, TESYA has created
a company exclusively focused on energy transition, that aims
to accompany both Italian and European businesses in this journey,
delivering highly integrated multi-technology and multi-provider
turnkey decarbonization solutions, in partnership with other
Group companies. Rental is intrinsic to the sharing economy and
the Group is actively engaged in this sector through CGT, CLS, CGT
Trucks, Finanzauto, STET, and, in short-term rentals, with Finanzauto
Rental, CGTE and Emerent. These companies are characterized
by a positioning strongly focused on providing sophisticated
solutions across numerous market segments.
Two other areas of development include intelligent warehouses
and, in general, asset management, with the aim of ensuring cost
efficiency for Customers, including during the prospecting phase.
20 | | 21

An Innovative and
Sustainable Strategy
Creating Value
for our Customers
We have embraced the challenge of completing our journey towards
carbon neutrality, to achieve maximize benefits for both our Customers
and the Group. This is why tangible sustainable actions
are a priority for TESYA.
Sustainability, i.e. protecting the environment and, improving people’s
quality of life and safety, guides the design of our machinery.
However, to generate a positive impact, we also invest in software,
engineering, ancillary products and advanced logistics. Technology,
when used correctly, is and will continue to be crucial in addressing
this challenge.
As a Group we have set an ambitious goal of cutting our emissions
by 40% by 2030. We are already implementing the first initiatives
for reducing our carbon footprint, launching a significant investment
plan of 35 million euros for improving the efficiency of our
facilities. By the end of 2024 we expect to have already cut our building
emissions by 15% compared to 2023, on a like-for-like basis.
We work to ensure that the value derived by technology and
data is not only instrumental in our own development but also
in that of our Customers. The goal is for all the products we sell
or maintain to be interconnected, allowing us to anticipate breakdowns,
conduct remote diagnostics, and thereby reduce repair
times. This approach, optimizes how our Customers utilize our
product and minimizes their environmental impact.
This not only enables us to provide products with crucial technical
support and cutting-edge services, but also to design and deliver
comprehensive solutions that offer a holistic response to our Customers’
needs, in all the markets in which we operate.
The advantages for our Customers are significant: they can achieve
precisely the optimal output they are seeking, increase their flexibility,
predictability and reliability, rationalize and optimize investments,
while also transferring part of the risk to us. This, in turn,
frees up their time and energy to focus on their specific areas of
expertise.
Our goal is the success of our Customers. It is about so much
more than just constantly seeking new solutions. It is an attitude,
a method. It is a ‘journey’ that we embark on, together with all 24
of the Group’s companies, where research is guided by the needs
of our Customers, making them increasingly feel like ‘our partners’.
Alongside Young Minds, Shaping Industry
4.0 Technicians
Contributing towards the professional education of our young people
is a fundamental pillar of our Group’s purpose. We believe training
is crucial for the individual and professional growth of people,
as it enables them to bring value to the markets in the Countries
where we operate.
The shortage of qualified manpower has remained a constant challenge,
despite the significant changes brought about by the pandemic
in the world of work.
To ride the wave of digital transition and support the development
of industry 4.0, all companies increasingly require specialized technicians,
but are struggling to find qualified professionals. At TESYA,
we have an ongoing hiring plan: from now until 2025, we anticipate
increasing the recruitment of specialized technicians by approximately
25%.
This is an extremely sensitive issue as it affects us directly. We feel
it is our moral duty to make a significant contribution in this field
with our knowledge and strength.
We believe that investing in the future of young people is fundamental
and that we must support them along their training and growth journey.
For this reason, on one hand, we are collaborating with various stakeholders
to reposition the image of the technician and help them
understand the prospects of this profession. On the other hand, we
are collaborating in a structural manner with technical institutes.
We have initiated a project with some technical institutes in Italy
and Spain, particularly with the Salesians, to train industry 4.0 technicians,
because we firmly believe in the collaboration between
business and education to reemphasize the importance of technical
education.
The project aims to develop expertise through a year-long program
for technical high school graduates, with “STARTech”, a one-year educational
program consisting of classroom courses and 400-hours of
paid internship at our Italian and Spanish companies. The objective
is to cultivate advanced technical professionals, capable of operating
on sophisticated mechatronic systems applied in the industry.
Job Site Advanced solutions
Leading-edge optimization
TESYA Group companies offer advanced job site optimization services
focused on increasing productivity, reducing operating costs,
improving capital utilization and better decision-making support.
The TESYA Group has the expertise, experience and technologies
necessary to ensure truly effective support for contributing to the
growth and evolution of some of the most well managed and advanced
companies in their respective fields.
A quarry at the next level
We have helped increase the yield of a major limestone quarry by
analysing in depth the site layout and production cycles, the vehicle
fleet and the maintenance planning. Deploying advanced telemetry
and data analytics while working in close collaboration with
the owners and operators, we have designed, implemented and
monitored significant management improvements, yielding an economic
benefit of €300,000 per year for the quarry, and strengthening
the relationship of trust and collaboration between TESYA and
the site owners.
Advanced site technologies
A team dedicated to the use of advanced construction site technologies
assists our customers through every stage of their projects,
from the feasibility studies and design stages to identifying and preparing
the most appropriate machinery, whether rented or owned.
Having jointly identified the most suitable technologies, we help
with the worksite preparations, calibrating the 3D systems, starting
up the machinery and training the operators. Incorporating 3D technology
in our consulting activities helps maximize productivity,
precision, safety and cost reductions in a wide range of sectors.
A race against time in the snow
Companies building ski runs and artificial snow reservoirs are in a
fight against time. With a window of just 4-5 months available, the
sites need to be organized down to the smallest detail. Which is why
one of the biggest names in the sector has long partnered with us
as a trusted consultant. Our customer had in a time frame of about
5 months to build a 120,000 cu.m reservoir 2,100 m above sea level
to ensure the availability of artificial snow in the winter and water
supply in the summer. To enable them to do this, we identified the
most suitable machines and technologies, many owned by the customer
and others rented. Our Advanced Technology team then
converted the Works Management’s 2D drawings into a 3D version,
uploaded the design information to the excavators and a roller, and
calibrated the systems reader for work so that a total of around
150,000 cu. m. of earth could be moved to complete the project
successfully in the short timeframe available.
establishing hybrid propulsion as a more environmentally friendly,
viable and sustainable alternative to traditional propulsion”.
Going the extra mile
entire job took just 18 days thanks to the dedication of a team of
more than 35 technicians from all over Spain, who put in more than
6,000 hours fitting over 8,000 parts, lifting and handling in excess
of 25,000kg. It was an impressive example of what can be achieved
by a team of committed, highly trained professionals.
Cogeneration plants
Efficiency and reliability
Energy efficiency is one of the pillars of the European Union’s Green
Deal to make Europe more sustainable and reach climate neutrality
by 2050. Cogeneration is the ideal choice for large industrial companies
in diverse sectors wanting to increase the efficiency with
which they meet their electricity and heat needs. However, cogeneration
plants need to be appropriately sized and promptly satisfy
the customer’s needs, just like a made-to-measure suit.
Advanced cogeneration solutions
Thanks to our customization capabilities, a leading retail chain turned
to us. Following an in-depth feasibility study, we designed and
built a turnkey 2.5 MW plant that not only generates electricity and
heat but also drives the cold chain, transforming the recovered heat
into energy for cooling using a 475 kW ammonia absorption refrigerator.
The reliability and performance of the system are guaranteed by
a maintenance contract that provides remote monitoring and a 24/7
callout service. We also take care of every aspect of the systems
with turnkey management service and guaranteed availability and
performance.
Warehouse organization
360-Degree solutions
Competitive companies need a clear strategy when pursuing multiple
goals. TESYA Group companies support this every step of the
way, guaranteeing continuous support tailored to each customer’s
strategic vision.
A success story in packaging
A customer in the packaging sector based in Puglia asked us to
take care of the maintenance of its fleet of machines, mostly multi-brand
forklifts, scrubbers, tail lifts and light electric vehicles.
The expertise and professionalism of our technicians and sales
department had built strong relations with the production personnel
and company owner, leading them to subsequently approach
us in a consulting capacity.
The first step we recommended was to take the forklift fleet entirely
over to Hyster diesel and electric models, to install packaging
presses for materials handling and to create a tailored Scheduled
Maintenance Contract to meet the customer’s needs precisely. We
then took this support a step further, analyzing the customer’s
business and suggesting an effective solution for them to optimize
their resources: rental. The customer followed this advice, renting
the forklifts required to work multiple shifts while continuing to
maintain its own forklifts, which it used for just one shift. The results
exceeded expectations both for productivity and operating
costs.
Warehouse automation
The strength of simplicity
Complex situations need solutions that simplify. What’s more, making
things easier can also result in doing them better through having
understood the difficulties and developed an effective action
plan. However achieving this requires knowledge, experience and
ingenuity. A pool of engineers and consultants guides customers as
they develop new perspectives through cutting-edge automation
systems. Automating processes means, on the one hand, improving
efficiency and reducing human errors, thus releasing staff from
tedious and repetitive tasks in order to deploy human resources
to higher value-added activities, and on the other hand, ensuring
higher production standards. To increase the performance of logistics
and intralogistics activities, we design highly flexible and modular
industrial automation solutions and systems.
Strategic implementation
Advanced technologies unquestionably help to create a safe work
environment. A food packaging company in Piedmont approached
us for an automated solution for their pallet, small forklift and bin
handling needs.
The main problem was the lack of space available for forklifts and
transpallets to maneuver in cramped areas where people were also
present. In addition to the safety challenge, there was also a lack
of skilled operators, with the materials handling outsourced to an
external logistics cooperative. Our solution was to use two Agilox
intelligent guided vehicles, introducing them a few months apart
from each other. Working 24/7 these vehicles replaced 2 operators
per shift and therefore 6 in total, who were redeployed to higher
value-added duties.
Mission Zero Impact’ project thanks to CGTE
The festival is pursuing its sustainability strategy through new initiatives
that will take the event ever closer to its goal of zero impact
on the surrounding area.
The ‘TRACELESS – Mission Zero Impact’ project has been conceived
with this very intention: starting this 2023 and for the first
time ever in Italy, one of the NAMELESS FESTIVAL stages will be
completely powered by zero-emission batteries, thanks to a CGTE
project. Additionally, CGTE will use the latest generation of Stage
V-certified generator sets for this event – technology that significantly
reduces CO 2
, NOx, HC and PM emissions. This technology
guarantees a drastic reduction in noise impact (57 dBA). Stage lighting
and effects will be provided by biodegradable confetti and
mobile lights with solar and hybrid energy.
Backstage, the containers housing the production offices and artists’
dressing rooms will be powered by the CGTE Solar System, a
system of photovoltaic solar panels and battery packs.
Round-the-clock work for the new Genoa bridge
A fleet of machines and equipment for very different applications,
backed by a total assistance commitment, was how we made a vital
contribution to the building of the new San Giorgio bridge in Genoa.
Supporting the works for the spiral ramp, and the safety work on
the viaducts leading to the bridge, we mobilized a fleet of more
than 45 machines, including lifting platforms, earthmoving equipment,
telehandlers and vehicles. Ensuring work could continue
non-stop, day and night, to take full advantage of low- traffic times.
Making technicians available at all hours to attend to breakdowns.
And keeping our warehouses open to make further equipment available
whenever needed to boost productivity. Because what we offer
are “Rental solutions”, working side by side with our customers
to deliver integrated solutions that help them meet their contracts
and grow their reputations.
A partner facing a challenge
A major Italian water infrastructure company approached us to support
their extraordinary maintenance works on the main pipelines
under Lake Garda feeding a purification plant. We swung into immediate
action, providing complete consulting based on a detailed
analysis of their requirements. The power generation system required
had to supply the entire floating platform serving the underwater
works, from the welding and lighting equipment through to the
breathing apparatuses on which the engineers’ lives depended as
they worked at depths of between 50 and 180 meters. The solution
we delivered consequently ensured the highest levels of redundancy
for failsafe operation under all circumstances, including two
1 MW generators – a main and a backup on constant standby. Full
24/7 support services, including fuel management, provided further
guarantees of uninterrupted supply, ensuring the delicate works
could be completed reliably within the narrow timeframe specified.
Reference Data Centers for Hyperscaler
Architecture
Located near Madrid-Barajas airport and designed by Finanzauto,
it boasts over 12,000 m² of IT space within a 100%-Carrier-Neutral
ecosystem. With two first phases completed (44MW + 24MW), it
already has 40 Caterpillar generators installed to ensure continuity
of power supply for both IT and cooling operations. With future
expansions, it will become the largest Data Centre in Spain.
Strategic trucking partners
Full-spectrum dependability
Our truck solutions are tailored dynamically and flexibly to combine
up to five different services as required – New Truck Sales, Truck
Rentals, Ex-Rental Sales, Used Sales and Technical Assistance – all
with a single aim in mind: to provide our customers with complete
support so that they can concentrate confidently on their core
business.
Growing together
We provide all our customers with the same in-depth support
through comprehensive ongoing analysis of their needs. This led
us to investigate how we could meet the perishable goods transportation
requirements of a customer by integrating refrigeration
units in our truck rental solutions to provide a complete service.
As a result, when they approached us on the back of our strong relationship
with a rental enquiry for temperature-controlled trucks,
we were able to present a complete turnkey proposal, including
insurance, maintenance and 24/7 technical support across Europe
– all delivered through the single point of contact of our dedicated
Customer Care Service. And we could then configure and deliver
the vehicles in just 10 days. In supporting their growth, we grew
together, developing an increased understanding of market needs
and how to meet them.
