This place doesn’t have a heaviness like a
cemetery or memorial ground has.
It has this peace and lightness
that instills hope.
Jodi Plecity runs Peoples Rising Academy with Dr. Myles
Brooks, a non-profit that provides medical services based
on comprehensive testing to people who “accept the
responsibility of choosing a different path towards the
initiative of being an athlete at life.”
Having experienced immense loss and tragedy herself,
Jodi heard about the Fishers’ Garden and knew she
needed to help. The three joined forces and co-founded
the idea for Phase Two of the garden.
Jodi connected with North Dakota State University
Professor of Landscape Architecture Dominic Fischer,
who assisted with design development and coordination.
The Garden of Healing is fully funded by community
donations, and the team is actively fundraising to raise
funds for both the creation and future maintenance of
the garden.
