“25 Years of Lewens”
– tradition and a passion for outdoor solutions
Good mood guaranteed: The celebration to mark the
25th anniversary of Lewens Sonnenschutz-Systeme
GmbH & Co. KG was a colourful blend of information
and entertainment.
Radiant sunshine and summer temperatures
proved a fitting backdrop to the big
corporate event to which LSS Lewens
Sonnenschutz-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG
had invited all its stockists, suppliers, and
employees along with their families to
celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary.
Balloons together with a big number “25”
at the entrance gate marked the way to the
party venue on the company premises.
Awaiting the approximately 1,000 visitors
and guests was a colourful country-style
market in one of the production halls and
on the outdoor area. Selected food trucks
offered an appetising range of food and
drink to suit every taste, while a bouncy
castle and goal-shooting competition
provided the younger guests with an outlet
for their energy and sporting talents.
Specialist dealers and guests were
welcomed personally and individually
accompanied by field sales team members
and internal staff, with orientation aided by a
guidance system with signage and meeting
points identified by postcode.
Opening the event, managing directors
Götz A. Lewens and his son Götz-Philip
Lewens expressed thanks on behalf of the
entire family to all employees, customers
and business partners for their contribution
to the company’s 25-year history. The
congratulations and host of imaginative gifts
received by the Lewens family reflected the
guests’ pleasure regarding the occasion and
at receiving an invitation. Company founder
Götz A. Lewens was formally presented
with a large olive tree – a symbol of growth
and success – by the employees of his
company as thanks and recognition for his
leadership of the company for 25 years.
All visitors were able to participate in
guided tours of the company in different
languages and gain an accurate impression
of production “made in Germany”.
Information stands covering products and
equipment from suppliers and business
partners afforded additional detailed insights
into product features and materials. There
were plenty of opportunities for chatting in
a relaxed atmosphere. A young live band
provided musical entertainment, creating a
vibrant, upbeat mood with songs perfectly
matched to the occasion such as
“Celebration” and “We Are Family”.
A special and eagerly awaited highlight
was the presentation of new innovations
from the product development team.
Already announced in advance, the Positano
weatherproof pergola was unveiled, which
with its waterproof cover and all-weather
usage capability adds a new segment to the
company’s portfolio.
The Capri Due pergola and roofmounted
awning represent an update by
Lewens of its proven glass roof awning
Capri in terms of shape and technology. Like
its predecessor model, the new Capri Due
is distinguished by rails that can be
positioned recessed inwards, a characteristic
that facilitates generous shading even of
hipped or angled glass roofs. As a pergola
type, the Capri Due can provide extensive
shade even where installation space is
limited. A particular surprise was the
presentation by the Lewens technicians of
LED lighting in the pergola uprights – an
extremely practical and elegant lighting
solution which is already in the process of
being patented.
The Portofino model series, hitherto
known for its pergola awning and interior
awning, has been expanded by the addition
of the new roof-mounted awning, creating a
further sunshade option for glass roofs and
conservatories. Like the other Portofino
models, it is equipped with a zip awning
guide and patented balancing spring
technology.
For many dealers, the high point of the
event was the draw featuring valuable
prizes, with submitted product orders as the
entry qualification. The tombola-style draw
hosted by a presenter enhanced the
excitement before the three lucky winners
of a mint-green anniversary Vespa, a dream
holiday to the Dominican Republic and the
latest E-Smart convertible were revealed.
Consolation prizes for all other entrants,
anniversary glasses and a fun photo booth
ensured that everyone had a keepsake of
the day to take home with them.
