Georgian Bay 1996 | A Precambrian
outcropping bathed in the setting sun near the
town of Killarney, Ontario. With its windswept
pines, glowing autumn blueberries, and island
studded waters, Georgian Bay remains the most
iconic Canadian Landscape photograph in my
collection.

Canola Field | Captured during my first
photographic expedition across Western
Canada in 1999. A vibrant field of canola is set
against the blue of an endless prairie sky as
white cumulus clouds appear to be funneling
into the distant island of trees.

Cathedral Grove 2001 | Film photography takes
time. I returned to this spot on many occasions
over a three-year period before everything
aligned—the high water levels from rains days
before, the bright overcast light, and the lack
of wind allowed me to execute this one-minute
exposure of an old-growth forest.
Wanipigow River 2006 | In Ojibwe Wanipigow
means "hollow water". After many early morning
visits to the river's edge I was finally rewarded
with this fiery sunrise, captured using my
Pentax 67 medium format camera near Lake
Winnipeg.
Schoen Lake 2006 | I composed this frosted
scene using my Japanese 4 x 5 wood field
camera and captured Mt. Schoen at last light
just moments before it disappeared into the
encroaching mist.
Alder Mirage 2009 | Red osier dogwood and
alder branches sparkle in an array of lines
and blotches in this expressionistic abstract
rendition of a coastal woodland near
Port Alberni.
