terraced vineyards of the Lavaux to

locomotive will push two carriages

in total to travel 1678m in altitude. 

After some time at leisure on the 

mountain top, make your way down 

to Brienz where you board a boat for 

a lake cruise on the crystal blue Lake

the from price is shown in a 3* hotel and 

2nd class rail journey if not mentioned 

otherwise. We offer a flexible approach to 

our holidays. Simply book the suggested 

itinerary as described or customise it 

with our suggestions. You can find various 

options for upgrades, extension nights 

and optional excursions and activities.

ACCOMMODATION 

Accommodation in all hotels, whatever 

the rating, is usually in a standard twinbedded 

room, unless otherwise stated. 

Please take note that most hotel rooms 

in Switzerland are equipped with a ‘Swiss 

twin’ (one frame/single mattresses/ two 

duvet covers). Also, many double / twin 

rooms only take a maximum of one extra 

bed for children. 

Check-in times are usually between 2pm 

and 3pm whilst check-out can be from 

11am to 12pm on the day of departure. If 

you have a later flight the hotel will in 

most cases agree to hold your luggage 

for a few hours after check-out. A later 

check-out or use of a day room (at 

additional charge) may also be an option 

and can be arranged locally 

SINGLE ROOM 

Although supplements are payable for 

single accommodation, it should be noted 

that the standard size and location of 

single rooms are not always as good as a 

twin/double room (even if the twin/double 

room is booked for single occupancy). 

GUEST CARDS 

Some cities and towns in Switzerland 

provide guest cards for local transport and 

other discounts to guests staying overnight 

at a hotel. This can be a very convenient 

and cost-effective way of exploring a local 

area on public transport. Guest Cards are 

always issued by the hotel. 

The roads in Switzerland are well 

developed and easily accessible. A 

motorway vignette is required when driving 

your own car in Switzerland. This can be 

purchased beforehand through us. Car 

Rental companies based in Switzerland 

include vignettes in their rental prices. If 

you are taking a rental car into Switzerland 

from France, Germany, Italy or Austria you 

will have to buy a vignette at the border. 

Expect queues in the high season. 

INTERNATIONAL RAIL 

All our packages can also be combined 

with train travel from neighbouring 

countries Germany, France, Italy and 

Austria into Switzerland. We offer Eurail 

tickets as well as point-to-point tickets 

on DB, Trenitalia, TGV Lyria services, SNCF,
