Runway Dubai presents its first-ever Sustainable Fashion Summit themed
Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Fashion.

As the curtains close on the 11th season of
Runway Dubai, hosted by SEE Institute the
Sustainable City, an archetype of modern
sustainable living, this year's event has set a
new record in the fashion, sustainability, and
technology precedent. The two-day event,
held on the 22nd and 23rd of November
2023, showcased creativity and a platform
for thought-provoking discussions on the
future of fashion.
The Sustainable City in Dubai underscored
the event’s commitment to ecoconsciousness.
The city,
renowned for its sustainable practices, was
the perfect backdrop for a platform that is at
the forefront of the fashion and eco-friendly
initiatives.
This year’s panel discussions were a
highlight, hosted by Leena Garba (TV host)
and Oliver Nakakande(Journalist and Beauty
queen) The discussions featured esteemed
speakers from various sectors of the fashion
and tech industries. The dialogues delved
into critical topics like the integration of AI
in fashion design, sustainable manufacturing
processes, and the future of digital fashion.
Runway Dubai specially credits guest

Khin Mar Htun is a student at Rdxb Fashion Academy studying for a diploma in fashion design.
She is from Myanmar, Burma. Determined to become a fashion designer someday. Khin is really
passionate about fashion and always finds new ways to learn and improve her skills.
In addition to her artistic prowess, Khin Mar Htun also demonstrates a strong commitment to
ethical and sustainable practices. By incorporating sustainability into her design philosophy, Khin
represents the growing movement towards conscious fashion and sets an example for the industry
as a whole.

Our design encapsulates our nostalgic need for timelessness and longevity in the evolving
world of AI. Inspired by the forms of 60’s classic automobiles and fashion silhouettes we aim
to give artificial intelligence a classic twist with metallic segments and a neo futuristic look.
The 60's also broke many barriers in futuristic design. Looking at mary quant’s style and the
shift in women’s power in the tech industry.
Cotton as a textile choice has been incorporated into the design of our endeavor symbolizing
that nature will constantly be a driving force behind humanity. Manipulation of different
cotton textile to a develop our design aesthetic.

Ugandan Emerging talent designer Felix Ahimbisibwe’s interest
lies in bridal wear such as suits and wedding gowns.
Felix created his fashion brand one year into fashion school. He named his
brand FA Fashion Styles, and has since then, participated in the
Runway Dubai platform for three consecutive years till date.
Felix hopes he will one day be Africa’s #1 bridal wear brand.
