The timing of this tulip festival is weather
dependent but is usually in April. And
what an extravaganza of colour it is
against the backdrop of Arundel Castle
and cathedral. With lots of nooks and
crannies to explore, it’s also fun for the
children so makes a great family outing.

In the most elegant of hotel settings,
celebrate Valentine’s Day with a romantic

Laser Light Show, Chichester
Canal Basin
16 and 17 February, 6pm onwards
This light extravaganza will feature a
visual spectrum of colours in reference
to Turner and his renowned painting of
Chichester canal which is considered to
be one of his finest works. The show will
start with the 1812 overture. It is free
to attend.
Lewes History Group
12 February and 11 March, Zoom
History lovers may wish to join this group
on 12 February for “Geoffrey Mead – Mr
Defoe’s tour through South East England
1724”. This talk looks at aspects of Daniel
Defoe’s journey in SE England using
mainly modern images of the places he
mentions alongside his commentary. On
the 11 March the talk is on the subject
of “The life and times of John Whitfield,
Cliffe Merchant”.
