A Note From the Voices and Stories Co-Creators
Believing in the power of change, Dwight Hall remains committed to fostering a
community where transformative actions take root. In these uncertain times,
the importance of advancing change has never been more pronounced, and
Dwight Hall endeavors to turn this belief into reality. This is why we recognize
that the journey towards social change is propelled by those who are invested in
shaping the world.
For 138 years, Dwight Hall has drawn inspiration from a diverse web of students
and community partners at Yale, New Haven, and beyond. In the 2022-2023
academic year alone, 3,748 student volunteers—including 74 student-led
member groups and 165 term-time and summer fellows—contributed more
than 60,700 hours of direct service and advocacy in New Haven and
communities nationwide.
The fusion of those individual perspectives is Voices and Stories, a magazine
that offers a glimpse into the world of Dwight Hall students through their own
voices and engaged viewpoints. As new challenges arise, this magazine aims to
foster a sense of community through the narrative of students working in service
of their communities.
