FESTIVAL <strong>2024</strong><br />
CELEBRATING YOUTH AND SPORT<br />
On 24th March, <strong>2024</strong>, the Hong<br />
Kong Football Club hosted the<br />
HKFC Youth Rugby Festival,<br />
bringing together young athletes,<br />
coaches, and families. It was a day<br />
filled with enthusiasm, competition,<br />
and community spirit, marking another<br />
successful year for this much-loved event.<br />
The event saw 234 teams participate,<br />
with around 2,500 players ranging<br />
from U5s to U12s. The enthusiasm and<br />
skill displayed were a testament to the<br />
vibrant youth rugby community.<br />
This year's festival was marked<br />
by unusually warm weather, with<br />
temperatures reaching 32 degrees.<br />
Despite the heat, players performed<br />
superbly, displaying commendable<br />
endurance and an unwavering<br />
competitive spirit.<br />
The presence of senior national players<br />
from the Hong Kong China Women<br />
XV team added excitement, offering<br />
inspiration to young athletes dreaming<br />
of future rugby success.<br />
Teams from Hong Kong and Macau<br />
came together, contributing to a<br />
dynamic atmosphere at the festival.<br />
Some age group highlights:<br />
U5<br />
Relishing the opportunity to play at<br />
home against other U5 teams, the<br />
increased go-forward and defensive<br />
pressure versus previous festivals<br />
had all the coaches and parents<br />
in shock and beaming with pride.<br />
All 3 teams played incredibly well<br />
with plenty of smiles, tries and very<br />
pleasingly tackles!<br />
