I trust that all of you had an enjoyable time last month during Rugby Week.
It was a very busy week, commencing with the Tradition HKFC 10s and
great to see so many absent members coming back to visit us. It was
refreshing to see levels of patronage that were on a par of pre-pandemic
levels and I sincerely hope this can only grow from here.
I am delighted to tell you that, based on preliminary calculations, the Club
experienced a considerably higher level of activity compared to last year.
In May, our focus will once again shift to football and celebrating its
25th anniversary year, we are delighted to welcome new sponsors to the
HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens. This tournament is scheduled
to take place from 24th to 26th May and will showcase the talents of young
players from English Premier League teams, alongside some of our very own
regional stars and contenders.
Mark your diaries for 23rd of May for the Sportsman’s Dinner where
we will welcome one of our Honorary Members Les Ferdinand as the
main speaker.
For the first time, the tournament will include an inaugural Women's 7s
competition as well. Detailed information about the tournament will be
available on the Club's website, so be sure to keep an eye out for the
official fixtures.
Finally, we will be holding our inaugural HKFC Annual Sports Awards on
Saturday, 7th of September, where we will celebrate our sporting successes
of the previous year with all sections and societies in one place for the very
first time.
I look forward to celebrating these sporting events with you. See you at
the Club and have a great month.
