<strong>Law</strong> is a people business. Making sure that clients, customers, and employees are well looked after should be the priority for everyone, especially senior leadership. The legal industry has an obligation to keep people and humanity at the centre of everything, whether it’s a client’s journey or an employee’s career journey. This issue of <strong>Modern</strong> <strong>Law</strong> is focussing on the human aspect of law and how businesses can better uplift their clients, customers, and employees. Every legal professional has their own style of working and, so when it comes to dealing with people one size does NOT fit all. Throughout this issue you will read about varying ways businesses and leaders can ensure satisfied clients, and happy employees. Opening the magazine is an interview with Richard Burcher, Chairman of Validatum®., who discusses the challenges commonly faced by laws in relation to pricing and billing, looks into pricing strategies and examines the myths and misconceptions of pricing services. Our second interview is with Eve & Dino Dullabh, co-founders of the <strong>Law</strong> Training Centre. Their company offers continuous training for qualified lawyers and here they discuss creating this culture within law firms, ongoing educational needs within the legal sector as well as future trends. We have two fabulous insight pieces from Amjed Zaman, Personal <strong>Law</strong> Partner, LCF <strong>Law</strong> and from Hannah Newberry, Family Solicitor, Hugh James. Amjed discusses the journey from newly qualified to solicitor to partner in 8 years and reflects on his career progression for the benefit of others. Hannah looks at the human element of Succession Planning within the legal practice and the hurdles presented in such. Our Editorial Board discusses the ethos of Client care, ways of approaching this care while looking at relationships with the client to the importance of customer feedback running alongside discussions on Employee feedback, their wellbeing, fostering trust and the importance of workplace diversity. Following on from the Editorial Board we have two incredible features from Maryam Razzaq and Rukhsar Jahangir from The Legal Lynk, a community project dedicated to empowering and promoting women in law and from Peter Saban, Associate at Arnold & Porter who looks at Legal Aid and the importance of pro bono networks. <strong>Modern</strong> <strong>Law</strong> have had a very busy March this year with hosting both the <strong>Modern</strong> <strong>Law</strong> Awards 2024 and the inaugural <strong>Modern</strong> <strong>Law</strong> Conveyancing Conference 2024. Our inaugural <strong>Modern</strong> <strong>Law</strong> Conveyancing Conference 2024 was held on 21st March at the stunning Coombe Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire. The People’s Conference presented many inspiring insights from distinguished legal leaders, a special guest talk by Ollie Ollerton of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins’ and much networking.
