The Plays<br />
The lights come back on abruptly and JAKE jolts up, looking over to ADAM leaning<br />
on the kitchen counter. There's junk food on the counter. The characters, JAKE and<br />
ADAM, are now in their thirties.<br />
JAKE<br />
Ugh ... morning ADAM// wait what's with the snacks on the counter? Our blood<br />
pressures definitely cannot, will not deal with that!<br />
ADAM<br />
Oh! Yeah, those are for movie night! I figured since, we haven't done one in ages,<br />
we'd test it out again. Also, the movie tonight? Lion King 2! Eh? Remember? The<br />
whole Romeo Juliet 2 idea conversa II yeah you remember!<br />
JAKE<br />
What? Oh, yeah, yeah ....<br />
ADAM<br />
Well, anyways, you wanna grab breakfast before your shift? New McDonalds just<br />
opened where the old takeout place was.<br />
JAKE<br />
What?!? Why!? How could they do that to a small business?! That place was great!<br />
(Beat) Only a couple rats lived there ... I can't believe McDonalds would do that...<br />
alright, I've decided, get your things, we're getting rid of that place.<br />
ADAM<br />
Eh? Dude, it's McDonalds, how, what would we do?<br />
Pause.<br />
I ... I'll figure it out before work starts.<br />
JAKE<br />
JAKE and ADAM exit stage right. The lights dim to show that it is now night-time.<br />
Scene end.<br />
JAKE and ADAM enter stage right.<br />
ADAM<br />
Sooo, guess who got an acting gig?! Me, I did, in case you didn't get that yet. I<br />
dunno, I feel kind of good about this one! Happening in like two days I think?<br />
Pause.<br />
ADAM<br />
You, you alright JAKE? You didn't eat anything at McDonalds and barely served<br />
anyone at work.<br />
Pause.<br />
