NEW ZEALAND 738-OJ-155 NEW ZEALAND
NEW ZEALAND
STAGECOACH GROUP
Corrections / Additional Information
729-OJ-210 When Stagecoach purchased Wellington City Transport Ltd (WCT), the company name
was retained, and vehicles still show this on the legal lettering. ‘Stagecoach Wellington’ is the
fleetname, having replaced ‘Big Red’ used latterly by WCT, but we will continue to use it here
as a way of differentiating between the pre- and post-Stagecoach eras. Likewise,
‘Stagecoach Auckland’ is the fleetname of Transportation Auckland Corporation Ltd, the ‘arms
length’ company set up by Auckland Regional Authority (which used ‘Yellow Bus
Company’ as the fleetname) prior to Stagecoach taking full control of the company.
Corrections / Additional Information
735-OJ-107 It should be explained that 5722 - 7556 were all new to the New Zealand Railways Road
Services (NZRRS). The urban operations of the NZRSS had adopted the Cityline name 8/88
The Papakura depot, vehicles and operations in the southern suburbs of Auckland were
purchased by Wellington City Transport (WCT) in mid 1992, a few weeks before Stagecoach
purchased WCT (this date supersedes that given under Corrections in 732-OJ-40). These
operations were subsequently reformed into the separate Cityline Auckland.
The details of 6823 and 7421 are not known.
7614 is also reported as being registered TA 7468.
7612 and 7619 were first registered in NZ c12/94.
Delete the references to 270 and 4762-5997 under Vehicles Out, and replace with ‘5722-6008
gone by12/99’; your sub-editor will try and get his final draft ready in time in future.
