Take the bus instead of bringing a car to campus; it’s easier than trying to find a parking spot in San francisco! 8 Students Living off campus As a USF student who does not live in Universityoperated housing, adjusting to college life may present you with a different set of challenges. There are many ways you can find a sense of belonging at USF. For example, you could join a club or a study group; go to campus events; meet classmates for meals on campus; get an on-campus job; find a lounge where you can relax and do homework between classes; and participate in the Koret Health and Recreation Center programs. Know that you are not alone: nationwide, four out of five college students commute to campus. With a little extra effort, you can get the full USF experience while living off campus. Activities are designed to acclimate you to the campus and prepare you to thrive as a USF student. During the New Student Orientation Program, you will be assigned to groups with other off-campus students in Community Group Meetings. These meetings will allow you to learn more about life at USF and help you to connect with other students who live off campus. TRANSFER STUDENTS About one-fourth of our undergraduates are transfers, making you a significant part of our total student body. As a transfer, the varied educational background you bring enriches and strengthens the overall academic experience for all students. All orientation events are required of transfer students because becoming familiar with USF’s opportunities, resources, procedures, and policies and connecting with other USF students, faculty and staff is essential to your success at USF. Many orientation events such as Transfer Con! and Transfer Community Group meetings allow you to share unique experiences with other transfers while you get introduced to life at USF.
