potential <strong>of</strong> the assets they<br />

A New Strategy <strong>for</strong> <strong>Cultural</strong> Tourism in Ireland<br />
n Lead the debate on where new<br />
vis<strong>it</strong>or capac<strong>it</strong>y/infrastructure<br />
should be developed and adapted<br />
in a way more su<strong>it</strong>able to the<br />
tourist audience – both domestic<br />
and overseas.<br />
n Improvement <strong>of</strong> access and<br />
development <strong>of</strong> the vis<strong>it</strong>or<br />
experience – including physical<br />
access, signage, intellectual access<br />
and interpretation.<br />
n Prior<strong>it</strong>ise based on agreed<br />
‘calendar’ <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cultural</strong> Tourism<br />
themes – per Recommendation .<br />
n Lobby to create secure increased<br />
awareness and consideration <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>tourism</strong> as a driver <strong>of</strong> investment,<br />
resource allocation and behaviour<br />
on the part <strong>of</strong> the OPW.<br />
n Advocate <strong>for</strong> the incorporation<br />
<strong>of</strong> the OPW as a key stakeholder<br />
in the development <strong>of</strong> <strong>Cultural</strong><br />
