y Reunion Challenge The Reunion Challenges provides reunion classes with the opportunity to commemorate their special reunion 2009 milestones by making class gifts to the school. The Reunion Challenge is part of the FPB Annual Fund, and is used to help raise money for critical programs not covered in the operating budget. All individual gifts made by classmates within a reunion year are counted toward the class gift. Alumni may make unrestricted gifts or direct them to specific funds of their choosing. Contributions may be made outright, as pledges, or as planned gifts. At the Alumni Luncheon during Alumni Celebration 2009, Class of 1959 50th Reunion representatives presented Dean Wykle with a check for $125,645 from their Reunion Challenge winning class. The 55th Reunion Class of 1954 took 2nd place, raising $105,830, with a 58% class participation rate in the challenge. The 60th Reunion Class of 1949 took 3rd place, raising $33,128, with 50% of its members participating in the challenge. A total of $317,988 was raised through the Reunion Challenge campaign by loyal reunion classes in support of the school. I commend our past Annual Fund Chair, Susan Farkas Gerard, for her leadership during a year that was challenging, to say the least. In times like these, scholarships are crucial for nursing students. Your support of the Annual Fund made it possible for more students to attend FPB. In essence, your gifts made a positive difference in the lives of FPB students. As alumni and friends of the school, you are aware of FPB’s long history of commitment to excellence. The school has an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that has guided it through the years.
