Achievement Award from the Hospice

CPNP-PC, has been promoted to
associate professor with tenure.
Sara L. Douglas, PhD, CRNP,
Associate Professor, received pilot
funding from Case Western Reserve
University Frances Payne Bolton School
of Nursing for her project entitled
“Social Support Needs of Caregivers of
the Chronically Critically Ill.”
Amany Farag, PhD ’08, RN,
post-doctoral student, received the
2009 Dissertation Award from the
Health Systems and Policy Research
Section of the Midwest Nursing
Research Society (MNRS).

Diversity and Inclusion, has acquired
undergraduate and graduate level
nursing scholarships for disadvantaged
students through the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services Health
Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA).
Sarah hall Gueldner, DSN,
FAAN, FGSA, was appointed as the
Arline H. and Curtis F. Garvin
Professor of Nursing.
Evanne Juratovac, PhD ’09,
mSN ’88, RN, GCNS-BC, Instructor
and Project Coordinator, Prentiss Care
Networks University Center on Aging
and Health, received the 2009 Marie
Haug Award from the Case Western
Reserve University Center on Aging
and Health for exemplary performance
in her gerontological studies.
Irena L. Kenneley, PhD ’07,
mSN ’03, APRN-BC, CIC, Assistant
Professor, has received a University
Center for Innovation in Teaching and
Education (UCITE) Learning
Fellowship Award from Case Western
Reserve University.
Jill F.N. Kilanowski, PhD, RN,
CPNP, Assistant Professor, received the
Junior Researcher Award from the
MNRS Pediatric Research Section. She
is also the recipient of the First Place
Research Poster Award from the
National Association of Pediatric Nurse
Associates and Practitioners.
Jack Robert Kless, mSN ’91, mA,
CRNA, Lecturer and Director of the
Nurse Anesthesia Program, received a
Grant Award for Nurse Anesthetist
Traineeships from HRSA.
Linda C. Lewin, PhD, APRN, BC,
Assistant Professor, received funding
from the American Psychiatric Nursing
Foundation (APNF) for her research
project entitled “Parenting Among
Women in Substance Abuse
Treatment.”
Susan Ludington, PhD, CNm,
FAAN, Carl W. and Margaret Davis
Walter Professor of Pediatric Nursing,
received the 2009 MNRS Mentorship
Grant Award. She was also the recipient
of the 2009 Audrey Hepburn Award for
Contributions to the Health and
Welfare of Children from The Honor
Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau
International.

professor with tenure.
Kathleen Ellen meyer, DNP ’08,
mSN ’85, GCNS-BC, Instructor,
received a 2009 Freedman Fellows
Award from the Freedman Center at
Case Western Reserve University for
demonstrating how information
technology will be used to enhance her
teaching/research.
Shirley mason moore, PhD ’93,
mSN ’91, RN, FAAN, The Edward J.
and Louise Mellen Professor of Nursing
and Associate Dean for Research,
received the 2009 John A. Hartford
Foundation Award for Leadership in
Geriatric Nursing Research from
MNRS.
Diana Lynn morris, PhD ’91,
mSN ‘86, RN, FAAN, FGSA,
Executive Director of the University
Center on Aging and Health, was
appointed the Florence Cellar Associate
Professor of Gerontological Nursing.
