PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING PROGRAM<br />
FOREWORD<br />
The Joint Task Force Two (JTF 2) <strong>Pre</strong>-Selection Physical Fitness Training<br />
Program has been developed by the <strong>Canadian</strong> <strong>Forces</strong> Personnel Support<br />
Agency (CFPSA) in conjunction with ParticipACTION. The purpose of this<br />
comprehensive <strong>fitness</strong> <strong>program</strong> is to help candidates prepare properly for<br />
the <strong>physical</strong> demands of the Phase III <strong>selection</strong> process. Phase III is a<br />
structured assessment process and measures performance while placing<br />
candidates under <strong>physical</strong> and mental stress. Extremely high levels of<br />
personal <strong>physical</strong> <strong>fitness</strong> and motivation are critical to the successful<br />
completion of Phase III. This <strong>training</strong> <strong>program</strong> is designed to assist you in<br />
reaching the high level of <strong>physical</strong> <strong>fitness</strong> required to complete the JTF 2<br />
Phase III Selection Process.<br />
This is an extremely strenuous <strong>training</strong> <strong>program</strong>. Prior to<br />
attempting it, it is recommended that you complete the Army<br />
Physical Fitness Training Program contained in the Army<br />
Fitness Manual (AFM). The JTF 2 <strong>Pre</strong>-Selection<br />
Physical Fitness Training Program is<br />
an extension of the Army Physical Fitness Training Program.<br />
Successful completion of Level 4 in the AFM will ensure that you have an<br />
adequate base level of <strong>fitness</strong> to undertake this <strong>program</strong>. Pursuing it with<br />
inadequate <strong>fitness</strong> will put you at risk of serious injury. Should you require a<br />
copy of the AFM or assistance with your <strong>training</strong> <strong>program</strong>, please contact<br />
your local Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Fitness Staff.<br />
