76,500 to 1.3 lakhs depending on it size. Sun Pharma has already
came forward as sponsor and is ready to print and distribute it. They
would put their name below the calendar. The event calendar would
be from July of this year to June of next year. Decision: Passed by the
house. The Dr. Toresekar also proposed for IADVL diary of similar
nature having all the details of IADVL and its activities.
19. IADVL committee on SOPs report: Sent by Dr Arijit Coondoo by
email: Preparation of Standard Operative Procedures (SOPs) for
conduct of IADVL activities was taken up by the team headed by Dr
Arijit Coondoo. The responsibilities of preparation of SOPs was
allocated to sub-committees as follows: Adminstrative matters of
IADVL: Dr Joshipura. Finance: Dr. Arijit coondoo. IJDVL & IDOJ
matters: Dr Venkat Ram Mysore, Text book matters: Dr S
Sacchidanand, Orgnization of meetings and Days: Dr Ramesh Bhat,
Conference: Dr S Sacchidanand, IADVL academy of Dermatology: Dr
Arijit Coondoo, IADVL news and other publications: Dr Koushik
Lahiri, IADVL Yahoo groups: Dr Koushik Lahiri, IADVL constitution
and constitution committee: Dr Joshipura, IADVl elections and evoting:
Dr Ramesh Bhat, Involving Dr. Suresh Talwar, Dr.
Sacchidanand. Priority to SOPs to prepare on Administrative Matters,
and of IADVL Conferences.
20. International Speakers and Resource Person Database:
Proposal sent by Dr Rashmi Sarkar: Proposal: Every time IADVL
needs to find information on speakers/Resource persons for our
national conferences, we have scarcity of data on them. We choose
the speaker then the subject, rather than the other way round.
Discussion: It was proposed that Dr Rashmi Sarkar and Dr Shyam
Verma should start working on this project of organizing names who
are well known experts in their areas as a ready reference. Make
different headings of important diseases; build up database of
names, sex, department or place, city, country and area of special
interest, also most importantly their emails. Decision: passed.
21. The IADVL Academy report and proposals was presented by it
Convener Dr. Shyamanta Barua. The changes in the structure and
composition of the IADVL Academy and the SIGs were highlighted. It
was also reported that several SIGs are working on preparing
therapeutic guidelines in coordination with the IADVL Therapeutic
Guidelines Committee. In a related matter it was suggested by Dr VK
Sharma that existing guidelines if already present should be modified
and updated where ever possible rather than writing an entirely new
guidelines. Dr CR Srinivas agreed for the suggestion. To the question
whether the Convener can be a Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
member, Dr. Rajeev Sharma suggested that if he is doing well he can
me member of SIG as well.
A. The task of evaluation of the SIGs has been undertaken by the
Academy based on a set of criteria prepared by the Academy and the
IADVL

its recommendations would be passed on to the Executive for
continuation/termination/ revamping of each SIG. In this regard, it
was mentioned that reports for evaluation has been received from
most SIGs but there has been no response from certain SIGs.
B. Conferences by SIGs were proposed by Dr CR Srinivas & Dr Barua
and suggested the name, DERMASIGCON followed by the SIG name
e.g. DERMASIGCON-Psoriasis/Pemphigus/Urticaria/Pigmentary
Dermatoses for them. It was suggested that even a non SIG member
can hold a conference involving SIGs members. The calendar can be
prepared by the Academy and bbidding can be done on the floor
during ABGM or by Election and voting in case of multiple bids.
Preference will be given to non-metro cities that may not have the
infrastructure to host a DERMACON at this point of time. The
concerned SIG members will be the national members of the
Scientific Committee and there will be a local Organising Committee.
The rules regarding finances and profit sharing could be the same as
applicable for DERMACON or with minor modifications and an
amount of Rs. 2 lacs could be made available as seed money.
C. IADVL Training Fellowship issues: Guidelines to be framed for
Evaluation of existing Fellowship centres, for deletion of nonfunctioning
Fellowship centres and for approving new Fellowship
centres. Dr. Manas Chatterjee and Dr Arijit Coondoo had prepared
evaluation forms previously and can be used with some
modifications. One is evaluation is programmer by the trainee other
is trainee by the programme Director. Grading to be given rather than
percentage. The increase for stipend for trainee from Rs 5000 to Rs.
10,000 has been suggested and approved. The Academy will,
henceforth, screen applications for Fellowship Centres & training
fellowships by constituting a panel of members for such screening.
Evaluation of existing Fellowship centres would be initiated and
criteria for approving new Fellowship centres would be drafted by the
Academy.
D. IADVL SIG Research Grant: It was proposed that an IADVL SIG
Research Grant be instituted to fund research projects/ Multicentric
studies in the thrust areas of each SIG. The funding mechanism was
discussed. The format for application of the Research grant was
ratified.
IADVL Academy on the web: The proposal for a dedicated web page
of the IADVL Academy in the iadvl association website iadvl.org was
passed by the EC. The proposed webpage will have links for each SIG
and Links to the IADVL and IJDVL/IDOJ websites.
E. DERMACON Orations & Award Papers: Dr Barua apprised that the
GB has passed the proposal to advance the abstract submission
deadlines for DERMACON Award Papers & orations to Aug 31.
However, the Organising & Scientific Committees of DERMACON
2013 have proposed to accept applications for orations and award
