Announcement of IADVLThesis Evaluation Award (Dr. B.V.Satyanarayana Memorial Award) Rules for competition Announcement of IADVL thesis evaluation award 1. Only candidates successful in MD/DNB (Dermatology) exams during the last one year can apply 2. Only one application may be sent her institute per year accompanied by a recommendation from the Head of the Department that also certifies the authenticity of the work done and the time frame in which the study was completed.If more than one candidate has appeared during the year under review, the head of the dept should recommend only one of them based on merit. 3. Forms (also available for download on www.iadvl.org) a. The application form : applications must be accompanied with a standard form b. The information form : this one also must be filled and sent along with synopsis 4. Applications with SYNOPSIS OF THE DISSERTATION ONLY preferably with a copy of the approval letter of the Institutional review board/ Ethics Committee/ Academic Committee clearing the study proposal should be sent to the National ADVL Secretariat by e-mail only (in MS word format) by 31st October 2012. The attached synopsis should not have identifiers like name of the dissertations, guide, institution or city 5. The applications and the thesis will be randomly code - numbered by the Honorary General Secretary and then sent to the dissertation evaluation committee with blinding of names of candidates and identify of institutes or cities 6. Members of the thesis evaluation committee will study the soft copies individually and then hold preliminary discussions to short list good dissertations keeping in mind the criteria set forth in the following evaluation form 7. Hard copies of the dissertation will be needed only if the synopsis is short listed IADVL NEWS 8. Thereafter the evaluation will evaluate the selected dissertation in print format together to select the final top three and communicate the result to the Honorary General Secretary 9.
