The exhibition opened in spectacular style yesterday<br />

morning, with the lion dance, which is traditionally<br />

performed to welcome guests to auspicious<br />

occasions. The performance is intended to bring good<br />

luck to the show and ward off evil spirits.<br />

Braun has enjoyed a busy first day in the<br />

exhibition with a high level of interest being<br />

expressed in both the latest electronics products<br />

and the company’s new branding concept.<br />

Having met with companies from various<br />

countries – including India, Pakistan and Sri<br />

Lanka – Klaus Mellin, sales agent, travel retail<br />

& special markets, explained that the company<br />

has already received “very positive feedback”.<br />

The new all-black Braun stand is being<br />

presented in Singapore for the first<br />

time and it highlights the new branding<br />

concept, which extends to the freestanding<br />

presentation units and the product<br />

packaging. Specifically designed packaging<br />

for inflight sales has also been introduced.<br />

Mellin said: “The free-standing units have<br />

given a boost to sales in the stores where<br />

they have already been implemented.”<br />

A vast range of shavers is being showcased<br />

on the stand, and there is also a focus on the<br />

new Silk-épil 7 Dual Epilator.<br />

While Korea is currently the biggest<br />

individual duty free market for Braun, Mellin<br />

explained that sales figures across the<br />

entire region are doing “very well”. This, he<br />

explained, is largely driven by the appetite<br />

for high quality products made in Germany.<br />
