During the months of 

September and October this 

year. Cub Scout Packs and 

Boy Scout Troops will be in 

viting new boys to join the 

Scouting Movement, which, 

with over 64 million members 

in the United States, is the 

largest and most successful 

program of its kind for boys in

zvk, planned the liturgy for a 

Ma« which was held during 

the second class period on 

Thursday. The theme 

throughout the Mass was 

Happiness. 

His Excellency, Bishop 

Szoka. celebrated the mass 

with us along with grades 

seven to eleven. The program 

turned out successfully.

students from all over the 

state discussed the problems 

of the judicial system in 

America They split into 

groups to discuss separate 

problems of the major issue 

They then reassembled and 

proposed solutions It was a 

very interesting and 

educational day for all that 

attended Jan and Kathy both 

enjoyed it.

Last Friday night our 

football team played a tough 

game against Mackinaw City 

up in Mackinaw Joburg was 

handicapped with having 

Ernie Flanders stiil on the 

injured list. We all hope 

he II be playing again soon 

Christensen, the media center 

aide, the show will be con 

ducted from 9-10 ajn. with 

representations from each 

grade level (lst-4th). Steve 

Scott is acting master of 

ceremonies and awards will 

be offered to all those par 

ticipating .

This year the Middle School 

is conducting an intramural 

program at noon involving all 

5th-8th graders who want to 

participate. The program 

consists of a five-tribal setup, 

i a tribe comprising one 5th- 

8th grade home room) with a 

chief and chieftess elected for 

each group. The boys will 

compete at their own grade 

level in flag football and the 

girls likewise in line soccer. 

Volunteer high school 

student officials subordinate 

to two middle school teachers 

will endeavor to keep the 

program running smoothly. 

All students will be eligible for 

awards, such as participation, 

and trophies. These awards 

underline the philosophy of the 

program that everyone pai- 

ticipate. Also at this tune 

Middle School Superintendent 

Ron Supinger insued in 

vitations to all parents and 

interested spectators to visit 

or observe their school at any 

tune. 

Hi. I'm Kim Jacobs. I am a 

senior at Vanderbilt School. I 

have lived in Vanderbilt for 

four years. My parents are 

Mr and Mrs. Calvin Jacobs, 

and I have one brother, and 

two sisters. I am president of 

our Future Nurses Club. 

Cheerleading tryouts were 

held Monday night. The 

following girls were chosen as
