Content of the lecture
The idea is that many aspects of mapping can be shown by looking at the
history of mapping. This is not out of nostalgia. Our forefathers often had
to cope with the same questions somebody venturing in the field of
cartography faces today. Many themes are still to be found in modern
maps.
