Liquitex Mediums
Liquitex offers the broadest possible range of
acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage
of the painting process.
Liquitex mediums enable artists to modify acrylic paint
and thus use it in an infinite variety of techniques and

Surface Preparation
Surface preparations seal, prime and add tooth (for
adhesion) to surfaces such as canvas, wood, paper
and metal for acrylic and oil paint. Liquitex Gesso is
flexible, non-cracking and non-yellowing when dry.
Gesso
The classic sealer and ground for
absorbent surfaces (canvas, paper, wood
and metal). Provides the proper surface
texture and absorbency for acrylic/oil
paint. Available in white, black and clear.

Additives
Additives allow the artist to
adjust the working properties of
acrylic paint. They can be used
to increase the flow, the opacity,
or the thickness and more. They
should be used sparingly and
only in the amount needed to
achieve the desired effect.
Fluid Mediums
Fluid mediums modify acrylic
paints in a variety of ways, but
unlike additives, they contain
acrylic resins, so adhesion
and durability are maintained
or enhanced. They reduce
viscosity of heavier paints and
gels, tend to self-level and do
not retain brushstrokes.
Fluid Gloss Medium & Varnish
Increases flow, transparency and gloss.
Can be used as a non-removable varnish
to protect the surface and establish a
gloss sheen on flexible surfaces.

Slow-Dri Blending Fluid Medium
Contains a retarder for extended drying
time and easier blending. Enhances flow
and decreases drag. Add any quantity
without jeopardising the strength of paint
film. Dries transparent.

unify the surface sheen, protect the painting surface

intensifies dull colours without drastically reducing
colour depth.

Pouring Medium
Designed to not craze in poured
applications, which creates even poured
