p.m. until 6.30 p.m. Teachers always work in pairs and each pair of teachers (co-teachers) is<br />
responsible for a maximum of 24 children at nursery school level. In <strong>Reggio</strong>, nursery education<br />
is regarded as multi-functional, providing high-quality education and childcare for the children of<br />
people who work. Most educational activities take place in the morning. Children have lunch<br />
<strong>to</strong>gether and then spend part of the afternoon asleep. As no hierarchy exists within the school<br />
staff, teachers are involved in all aspects of the daily routine including meal times and bed times;<br />
emphasising the ethos of collectivity and participation that pervades all areas of school life.<br />
