Acknowledgements The future of our federation depends entirely on the continued goodwill and support of people who believe in the importance of encouraging young adults to participate in the political process. In Nuremberg, we found great support from institutions, local businesses and individuals who contributed either cash or services. On behalf of the young participants and their accompanying teachers, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who gave moral and financial support: The EU programme „Youth in Action“ supported the project with considerable generosity. Our patron, Günter Gloser, Member of the German Bundestag and Minister of European Affairs, has supported the aims and objectives of FACE with great enthusiasm ever since he heard of our federation for the first time. The City of Nuremberg welcomed our young people with warmth and generosity, providing the magnificent Historic City Hall for a splendid closing event. The strong support of its Human Rights Office provided the unprecedented opportunity to assist in the Human Rights Award ceremony, to join the Peace Table and to talk to highly renowned human rights activist Professor van Boven. Thanks must also go to Werner Sittauer, head of Sigmund-Schuckert-Gymnasium, who hosted the meeting at the school with great enthusiasm and went out of his way to provide FACE with the facilities and support necessary to make the meeting a success. The Citizens‘ Movement for Human Dignity donated generously to funds and its managing director, Mr Walter Schatz, was always eager to share his knowledge and to lend a helping hand. The local branch of the Lions Club helped with funding and was an important factor in enabling the FACE meeting to take place. Car dealership Feser not only provided funds, but also a van, which made arrivals and departures much easier.. We wish the hosts of next years‘ FACE meetings in Bratislava and Carlisle every success in obtaining similar approval and support in this challenging but extremely worthwhile project, so that FACE can continue to bring young people together and thus create stronger roots for a peaceful and enlightened Europe of the future.
