What is FACE about?
In 1999, the idea to create a forum for young Europeans was born in France by a group of
teachers. The “Federation of Associations of young Citizens of Europe” has continued this
work on a larger European level since its creation in Vienna in 2003. Associations and schools
from ten different countries work together and meet in a different host country each year.

FACE wants to
� promote the idea of a united Europe among young people
� encourage their involvement in active European citizenship
� contribute to the development of social cohesion and a European identity
� foster tolerance, openness and mutual understanding beyond all borders
� provide a learning network for young people’s activities
