Vile Metalcore riffs, demolishing grooves and vocals ranging from extreme growls and melodic parts dominate the 12 tracks on the longplayer. The greatest inspiration for her compositions and lyrics has always been the supernatural, dark romanticism and the beauty of nature and poetry. LIV KRISTINE‘s latest release »Libertine« is truly a milestone in her career; it sums up her most important artistic experiences in her life-long creative journey. Her own lyrics and melodies are exceptional through her enormous live and studio experience since her early youth. For the track ‘Vanilla Skin Delight‘, Liv recorded a duet with Platinum-Goldawarded artist Tobias Regner, winner of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar“, the German version of Pop Idol. »Libertine« was produced by Alexander Krull, Mastersound Studio. PARAGON – Force of Destruction For more than 20 years, the Heavy Metal institution has been example for how German steel has to be forged – no-holds-barred, heavy and on maximum volume! The new album »Force of Destruction« stays true to the band’s creed and fires from all cylinders. Heavy riffs, pounding drums, melodic hooklines and catchy refrains turn songs like ‘Iron Will‘ or ‘Bulletstorm‘ into anthems of the genre. In each and every second, every song on the album breathes the band’s fighting spirit and sense of the tradition. The longplayer was produced by sound wizard Piet Sielck, who has already lent his talents to bands like Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian or Iron Savior. In order to achieve honor as a Viking warrior, Hilmar has to embark on a perilous journey, fight terrifying beasts and possibly make the biggest sacrifice imaginable. SKÁLMÖLD’s characteristic Viking Metal serves as the soundtrack for this journey. This time, the Icelandic musicians even added a classical choir and the unique voice of Edda Tegeder (Angist) to their rich soundscapes. The raw yet melodic tunes combined with the epic story of Hilmar results in a sweeping mix that goes right under skin and captivates the listener’s imagination. »Börn Loka« is an original and profound longplayer, that fills the legends of the North with new life! 9mm – Volle Kraft Voraus If you think that bandleader Rock Rotten and his crew got rusty and lazy after numerous chart entries and well received gigs at Europe’s biggest festivals, you couldn’t be more wrong! With their latest studio effort »Volle Kraft Voraus» (‘Full speed ahead‘), the band continues their path of all-out, loud and dirty German Rock, filled with so much testosterone that an explosion is imminent. With an honest and hungry attitude, 9MM rocks through all the songs in which authenticity and uncensored messages stand in the focus of attention. In the lyrics of ‘Geh mir aus den Augen‘, ‘Popstars 2015‘ or ‘Mainstream‘, Rock Rotten talks about things that have to be expressed and he does not shy away from uncomfortable truths. He sounds a bit tired as the interview was conducted during the band’s „Up in Smoke“ Tour. “We are doing very well, and before we departed for the tour, Napalm Records/Spinning Goblin rereleased our debut album, »The Sundering«, on colored vinyl. We are really proud of these editions! Two colors are available through their online store, while we were allowed to sell one color just on our live dates. We decided to go for red as our personal color.“ Speaking of »The Sundering«, the band has been around since 1997, but there are not a lot of releases available. Is there a special reason for this? “We do a lot of concerts, and it takes a lot of time to prepare for them, especially when you play abroad and in different countries all over the map. It is very difficult to refuse these offers and the good dates, because this band is not our daily job. In addition, it takes quite a while to come up and write new songs. And once they are done, we work hard on them, changing details and so on and so forth.“ That makes sense, and leads us from the past to the present. Let’s talk about the latest album, »Eternal Season«, which is really hard to categorize. First Time On Vinyl 17276 18,00 EUR about the group’s main influences. “Our music and style is influenced by so many things and numerous musical styles,“ responds Fabrice, “but what we three in the band have all in common are bands like THE HEADS, FU MANCHU, NEBULA and YAWNING MAN. But apart from that, we listen to so many different things. However, I think that is very important, as it doesn’t close us off and keeps us free, so to speak.“ What does the title »Eternal Season« mean? In combination with the beautiful artwork, it seems like the album concerns itself with nature or time? “Yes, you are right,“ confirmes Fabrice and continues: “My bandmember Johan Jaccob is not only a guitarist, but also a well-known graphic designer. He draws his inspiration from the realm of flora and fauna. He really excels in this area, and you can find his illustrations all over the world. It was really a must that he illustrates the world of GLOWSUN, as his style fits our music perfectly. I think that shows in his artwork!“ Absolutely no argument there, especially the vinyl edition, which showcases the fantastic artwork in all its beauty. But let’s come back to the title of the album. What does it mean? “The woman on the artwork represents the last remains of our civilization. After the extinction of the human race, nature returns and takes back its rights.“ Is there a specific reason why you hardly use any vocals on the record? “The instrumentals are part of our sonic universe; we like them a lot. We follow our instincts and make music the way we feel, and we don’t care about neither any obligations nor the outcome.“ What does the future hold for GLOWSUN? “A lot of gigs and festival appearances.
