ANIA-CARING: Meet the Board<br />

President<br />

Victoria M. Bradley RN, DNP, FHIMSS<br />

Lexington, Kentucky<br />

Victoria M. Bradley DNP, RN, FHIMSS, CPHIMS is the Chief <strong>Nursing</strong><br />

<strong>Informatics</strong> Officer at the Eclipsys Corporation. Currently Dr. Bradley also serves<br />

as Assistant Professor, adjunct faculty for the University of Kentucky, College of<br />

<strong>Nursing</strong>. She is a HIMSS Fellow, a past Vice Chair on the HIMSS Board of<br />

Directors <strong>and</strong> a 2005 recipient of the HIMSS <strong>Informatics</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> Leadership<br />

Award.<br />

Dr. Bradley served as the President of ANIA this past year <strong>and</strong> is looking<br />

forward to creating a stronger nursing informatics organization with the merger of<br />

ANIA <strong>and</strong> CARING. She is much honored to serve as the first President of<br />

ANIA-CARING.<br />

Dr. Bradley was active for many years in the specialty of emergency nursing as<br />

an educator, director, speaker <strong>and</strong> author. She is a past president of the Emergency<br />

Nurses Association <strong>and</strong> the Emergency Nurses Foundation.<br />

Dr. Bradley received her bachelor <strong>and</strong> masters in nursing from Wright State<br />

University, Dayton, Ohio. In 2005, she received a Doctorate in <strong>Nursing</strong> Practice<br />

from the University of Kentucky.<br />

She resides in Lexington, Kentucky with her husb<strong>and</strong>. She has two grown sons<br />

<strong>and</strong> one gr<strong>and</strong>son. For fun she enjoys reading, cooking, knitting <strong>and</strong> hanging out<br />

with gr<strong>and</strong>pa <strong>and</strong> the gr<strong>and</strong>baby!<br />

Jerry Chamberlain, MS, RN-BC<br />

Jerry Chamberlain, MS, RN-BC, is a Healthcare Executive at Cerner<br />

Corporation where he works with clients <strong>and</strong> system engineers to implement<br />

software solutions to meet the changing needs of healthcare providers <strong>and</strong><br />

organizations. He travels frequently for his role <strong>and</strong> appreciates the value of<br />

connecting directly with bedside practitioners to underst<strong>and</strong> their needs <strong>and</strong> the<br />

impact of IT enablers.<br />

Mr. Chamberlain holds a master’s degree in informatics from the University of<br />

Maryl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska. His<br />

informatics career began during time spent as a critical care <strong>and</strong> transplant ICU<br />

nurse at Mayo Medical Center in Rochester, MN. It was there where he was<br />

exposed to new technologies <strong>and</strong> served on a organization-wide informatics<br />

committee to represent the impact of HCIT changes to nursing workflow. He then<br />

moved on to obtain formal education at the University of Maryl<strong>and</strong>’s program <strong>and</strong><br />

has since moved into a professional role at Cerner.<br />

Mr. Chamberlain serves on several advisory boards for informatics curriculum<br />

development <strong>and</strong> has guest-lectured in several of these same programs on the role<br />

of nursing informatics professionals in the corporate environment. For the past<br />

five years he has severed as President of CARING <strong>and</strong> is looking forward to the<br />

strength <strong>and</strong> opportunities now available as CARING merges with ANIA.<br />
