Jim has been a member of<br />

ANIA <strong>and</strong> CARING since the mid<br />

1990’s. He was a frequent<br />

presenter at the ANIA annual<br />

spring conferences. In 2005, Jim<br />

joined the ANIA Board of<br />

Directors as the treasurer. In 2007<br />

he successfully ran for the office<br />

president-elect, as a three year term<br />

(including President <strong>and</strong> Past<br />

President). As a result of the<br />

merger with CARING, Jim’s board<br />

role is Education Co-Chair. This<br />

year he is the Chair Person for the<br />

planning committee for the 2010<br />

ANIA-CARING Annual<br />

Conference.<br />

Jim currently works for<br />

Dearborn Advisers as a Delivery<br />

Service Executive. Previously, he<br />

was a Senior Manager with two of<br />

the large health care consulting<br />

firms. Jim’s clinical background is<br />

in adult critical care, emergency<br />

department, <strong>and</strong> informatics. He<br />

has an MBA <strong>and</strong> BSN from San<br />

Francisco State University <strong>and</strong> is<br />

board certified by the <strong>American</strong> Nurses Credentialing Center in <strong>Nursing</strong><br />

<strong>Informatics</strong>. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.<br />

Curtis Dikes, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC, CLNC, NEA-BC, is National Director<br />

Clinical <strong>Informatics</strong> Technology Integration at Kaiser Permanente, interacting<br />

with business <strong>and</strong> clinician partners to identify <strong>and</strong> deploy clinical care<br />

technologies that foster clinician efficiency, promote quality of care <strong>and</strong> patient<br />

safety, <strong>and</strong> otherwise support clinical improvement goals. He is an innovator in<br />

technology design <strong>and</strong> integration engendering optimal healthcare design <strong>and</strong><br />

delivery, using his background as a clinician <strong>and</strong> operations leader with expertise<br />

in nursing informatics, advanced practice nursing <strong>and</strong> biomedical ethics. Curtis is<br />

an active member of advisory boards, including the <strong>American</strong> Hospital<br />

Association (AHA) Solutions, Inc., Cisco Systems, Inc., <strong>and</strong> Vocera, Inc. Curtis<br />

sits on the Board of Directors including steering committee member of the<br />

Alliance for <strong>Nursing</strong> <strong>Informatics</strong> (ANI), as well as a designated mentor for the<br />

inaugural ANI Emerging Leaders Program. He is an active member in the HIMSS<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>American</strong> College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE) communities. Prior to the<br />

merging of ANIA & CARING, Curtis was a board member, including Past-<br />

President, of the <strong>American</strong> <strong>Nursing</strong> <strong>Informatics</strong> Association (ANIA).<br />

Vicki has over 30 years nursing experience in the roles of bedside nursing, unit<br />

manager <strong>and</strong> house supervisor in various areas including oncology, critical care<br />

<strong>and</strong> home health. While in home health, Vicki was thrown into the world of<br />

informatics when she assumed responsibility for the medical records <strong>and</strong> quality<br />

assurance departments as these areas went from manual to electronic systems,<br />

Vicki has been in her current role at a local acute care facility as Clinical<br />

<strong>Informatics</strong> Manager since 1997 <strong>and</strong> has been clinical lead in 3 departmental<br />

system design <strong>and</strong> implementations as well as 2 organizational HIS design <strong>and</strong><br />

implementations, including one in home health. Currently Vickie is the Clinical<br />

Project Manager for the installation <strong>and</strong> implementation of a new HIS system<br />

which will include CPOE, EMR, <strong>and</strong> clinical analytics. She <strong>and</strong> her team of 6<br />

nurses <strong>and</strong> 3 analyst work closely with all clinical users within the organization to<br />

for workflow redesign, system design <strong>and</strong> configuration, clinical testing <strong>and</strong><br />

training, <strong>and</strong> mobile device selection<br />

Vicki joined ANIA in 2003 <strong>and</strong> CARING in 2005. She was elected to the ANIA<br />

board of directors in 2007, <strong>and</strong> as served as the Education Chair, <strong>and</strong> involved the<br />

planning <strong>and</strong> production of the ANIA-CARING Conferences in 2008 <strong>and</strong> 2009.<br />

She continues on the ANIA-CARING Board of Directors as Regional Director for<br />

Region I.<br />
