thames goes virtual
thames Water has launched an online map to give an overview of their £5 billion
planned work to upgrade its ageing water pipes, sewers and other facilities over the
next five years.
Counties or London boroughs can be clicked on the website’s Big Map for an outline
of what thames Water is planning to do area by area between 2010 and 2015.
Further detail will be added to the map later in the five-year period as project plans

Georgia has CIPP on its mind
the Macon Water Authority has awarded a contract for the rehabilitation
of its wastewater pipelines using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) located in
Georgia, Us.
the $Us5.2 million contract has been awarded to Insituform to rehabilitate
over 24,000 feet of pipelines. the project includes 9,500 feet of
54 inch diameter pipelines located in Central City Park.
Work is expected to commence in september and take approximately
twelve months to complete.
Relining san diego’s sewers
Construction will soon begin on a sewer rehabilitation project in san Diego,
Us, with the relining of pipes as part of a program established by the city
with the Environmental Protection Agency.
the cost of the project is estimated at $Us1,689,593, which includes
design, construction and inspection and consists of rehabilitating approximately
590 existing 4 inch diameter service laterals (3.35 miles maximum)
occurring in the city’s right of way.
Construction is scheduled to commence at the end of september 2010
and will be completed by June 2011.
