Editorial During the past eight years since the British Chamber of Commerce came into existence, it has developed into a strong organisation with a large base of member companies ranging from big industrial producers to one-man enterprises. In this last year we have continued to organise networking and educational events, with a constantly growing number of interested participants. Should you have chosen to, you could have attended about 40 networking or educational events, or taken the opportunity to offer some form of sponsorship to promote your company and enable others to enjoy your hospitality. We have also improved the quality of information distributed to our members through the electronic newsletter ‘BCC Digest’ and transformed our former ‘Political Monitor’ into a fresher ‘News Chronicle’. We continue to monitor a variety of business enquiries from British companies wanting to do business in or with the Czech Republic. We would not, of course, be able to do any of the above without the continuous support of our members, so a big ‘thank you’ to all of you who make the Chamber such a force to be reckoned with. Our aim for 2006 is not only to continue organising top-notch events, but primarily to implement new commercial services and introduce new working groups to which you will be invited. For example, as part of our 2006 programme we are planning a special conference in London and a visit to Brussels as well as many other new and improved services. All in all, the Chamber will keep bringing many networking and educational opportunities to assist you in keeping pace with the modern world of business! We have therefore chosen the New Age 2006 as the title of the January FOCUS issue. Inside you can read some useful tips for implementing the hot trends from IT, telecommunications and technologies in your own business, as advised by companies who set the trends. As always, you will find the regular columns where we introduce new members, new faces in our member companies, latest events, and other interesting news from the Chamber and its members.
