“Smart” Interchangeable Faceplates<br />
Rosen Entertainment Systems is launching a systematic change in vehicle-specific<br />
factory-look in-dash multimedia systems. The Piranha factory-look series, with<br />
interchangeable “Smart” faceplates has plans for six Toyota applications (Camry,<br />
Highlander, Prius, Sienna, Tundra and Sequoia), the ’12 Honda Civic and the<br />
’12 Honda CRV.<br />
“The unique design of the Piranha factory-look series allows customers to stock<br />
universal electronics modules and vehicle-specific ‘smart faceplates’ separately to<br />
provide inventory flexibility combined with reduced inventory cost,” states Steve<br />
Weimar, Rosen vice president, sales and marketing. “The smart faceplates easily<br />
attach to the electronics modules and the included factory plug-and-play harness<br />
completes the installation. Additionally, Rosen is also rolling out attached faceplate<br />
Piranha factory-look systems for GM, VW, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.”<br />
The Piranha Factory-Look Series includes many of the Piranha universal 2DIN<br />
features and more: 7-in. HD touchscreen LCD display; made for iPod/Works for<br />
iPhone interface with album art and alpha search; front and rear “Direct–Connect”<br />
USB for iPod/iPhone; Parrot Bluetooth with phonebook download, A2DP<br />
music streaming, voice dial and internal or external microphone (included); iGo<br />
Primo 2.0 navigation software with 11-million POI, 3-D terrain and city center<br />
views, text-to-speech audio directions, auto detour alerts, full U.S. maps including<br />
Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico and five language options (English, Spanish,<br />
Japanese, Korean and Mandarin Chinese); AM/FM high-performance tuner with<br />
RDS; SAT radio interface; DVD/CD/MP3 player; 50 W x 4 audio amplifier with<br />
built-in crossover and subwoofer controls; DSP with graphic EQ; backup camera<br />
