Transit Oriented Development<br />
By 2010, the population in <strong>Iskandar</strong> <strong>Malaysia</strong> is forecasted to be 1.5 million, of which about 0.54 million<br />
and 0.59 million are within the Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru (MPJB) and Majlis Perbandaran Johor<br />
Bahru Tengah (MPJBT). Therefore, for the ultimate in integration, the Government has proposed the<br />
development of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) as well as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System. The LRT will<br />
include a 59 km route connecting Pasir Gudang-Nusajaya, totaling RM2.66 billion, to be completed by<br />
2020.<br />
